I believe people's willingness to accept missinformation is largely down to their own bias or stance. Confirmation bias is a much used phrase over the last few years, and I think these pictures are just a product of that.

100% . We all naturally sift out details we don't like and focus on the things that resonate. The key is to be aware of it and try to override it

We have eliminated one of the J6 rioters in NW Indiana. The man killed lived 20 minutes from my house and he was killed by a sheriff's deputy in Jasper County which is about 25 minutes south of my town. I have traveled the highway where the incident happened 100's of times.

Indiana man pardoned by Trump for Jan. 6 riot is shot and killed by deputy during arrest

An Indiana man recently pardoned by President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol has been shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop.

Just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, a Jasper County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over 42-year-old Matthew Huttle of Hobart, Indiana State Police said in news release.

While trying to arrest Huttle, police say he resisted and began struggling with the deputy.

"An altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer firing his weapon and fatally wounding the suspect," police said.

Last week, another man connected to the Jan. 6 riot was arrested after Trump pardoned him.

Daniel Ball of Florida was arrested on a pending federal gun charge out of Florida connected to prior convictions of domestic violence battery by strangulation and resisting law enforcement with violence, reported The Hill and
The New York Times.

I've never been prouder of the Jasper County Sheriffs Office.
Well they sound like fine, upstanding members of society.

Fake pic but this is an interesting article

Kind of backs up my dealings with legal immigrants in Miami, A lot seem to be ashamed of illegals and think it gives them less legitimacy and a bad name, especially the south Americans.
A really empathetic bunch, then...?

What is it that Trump has done so far in his presidency that people disagree with ?

All seems pretty sensible to me.

Now if he can crack on and get some sort of ceasefire/agreement in Ukraine then happy days.

He has 2 years to get all his stuff done before the mid terms

He is a convicted felon and is harassing Greenland, who want to be left alone.

He will get a ceasefire in Ukraine but it will appease Putin, not the Ukrainians.

The way he's started his own crypto coin is truly aspirational and by letting Melania have one too shows its not just all about him.

And what's a bit of ethnic cleansing between friends, most countries do it now and then

Rang the Danish PM and demanded Greenland?

Suggested Canada should be the 51st state?

Giving ICE permission to raid schools and places of worship?

The cabinet appointments?

Withdrawal from the Paris agreement and WHO?

I could go on. He's certainly raised some eyebrows. I'm sure his acolytes will appreciate his "man of action getting stuff done and rattling cages" schtick tho

You’d be better asking what people agree with ……. I’ll get back to you….

My family got in, now lock the doors. Its a common theme in the developed world.

I have an Hungarian - Australian friend who is always complaining about the Asia invasion.
My old man hates the foreign invasion so voted for Brexit. He was born in 1945 to a polish father and a Slovakian mother who met here after arriving a couple of years earlier. It is comparable to people who live in a new estate at the edge of town and then kick off about green belt when more houses coming on a newer estate.

Luckily he will be gone in four years. That’s the one big difference.
I really dont think so.

He doesnt need to actually change anything for the better. He just needs to keep telling everybody, and have his right wing media outlets tell everybody, that he has changed everything for the better. They believe the lies already - why else would a man like this be elected?- they just need to keep being fed more and more lies.
The landscape could be a boiling fetid mass of filth in 2028 for all but the stinking rich, and his message would be that he, and only he, is fixing things bigly, and Fox News and X and Meta and the like will spew out lies and outrageous untruths like never before.
Those who try to tell the truth will be eased out, mocked, ridiculed, set up as "Far Left Nasty People".

Its just a short step to him inventing a National Emergency to "postpone the election" by 2028. If he has the Supreme Court in his pocket, they could well uphold this.

Failing that - an amendment of the "Two Terms Maximum" rule - "That was only meant to be two terms in a row, folks, and I didnt get two terms in a row last time because I was cheated out of it. So the Supreme Court and I have had a little chat...."

Once the lies become so big, his followers will not care. He, and/or an increasingly autocratic Republican Party, are in for years and years now I fear.

Where to start ? Have you already forgotten January 2021 and his behaviour during that ? The lies about "the steal" , the famous "I'll be behind you" speech to those marching on the senate, the ugly violence witnessed at the senate that day in what was a blatant attempt to circumvent a democratic process? Well - he pardoned everybody last week. But heh, Im sure these are all good law abiding Murricans who wont intimidate anybody ever again, eh?
He is basically behaving like a mob boss (again) , and still people ask "What is it that people disagree with?"

You’re letting your imagination run away with you.

He’ll be gone in four, if not before.

That’s not how the Constitution is amended.
