naive? maybe. i'm just surpriseed how fragile the US constitution and political structure has become, when it was supposed to stop exactly this sort of thing.
Sadly, the founders worked on the mistaken assumption that people would fundamentally work for the common good. They didn't anticipate a felonious cult leader becoming president and half of both chambers on congress supplicating themselves before him.

@Marshy has got plenty of replies to his question about what Trump has done that people don't like (all in a couple of weeks too).

I'll add the threatening of a bishop who asked him to have mercy and empathy for the members of the country who are scared.

I look forward to Marshy's response to the rather large list as he explains why he considers them all 'sensible'.

I suspect that the grenade was thrown and he is now taking cover ,😂😂

There seems to be very little opposition to anything. The democrat party seem silent or silenced. The only political voice I hear is Bernie and he was written off years ago with pinko his commie policies that would help working people.

I feel for sensible Americans like yourself. It must be a scary place to live right now.

Report from the Jasper County Sheriff Department & Indiana State Police about the shooting on Highway 14 near the Pulaski County line.

During the traffic stop, the officer attempted to arrest the suspect when the suspect resisted. An altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer firing his weapon and fatally wounding the suspect. The investigation also shows that during the traffic stop, the suspect was in possession of a firearm.

I know very little about politics, but maybe staying quiet – while possibly not the best thing to do – is understandable.

The US public voted this guy in, so you would think they are onboard with what he is doing (I get the impression many are). So why risk alienating yourselves even further by opposing what their beloved leader is doing? Also, if Democrats are being more tactical, it's a case of giving Trump and co enough rope to hang themselves with when it all unravels, food prices don't come down, the rich get richer and he starts invading places? Mind you, they would probably still be behind him and find some way of blaming the other 'side'.

Trump on the ball regarding the aircrash in Washington DC opining that the helicopter should have gone "up or down".

The man is a genius.

"The majority of the settlement, $22m, will go toward a fund to pay for Trump’s presidential library"

Inflation must've really pushed up the price of Mr Men books and Playboy magazines.
This I award an early post of the day.

How long do we think it will take before they start to politicise this? Deep State, or Biden at fault somehow? I give it a day.

You'd think that the President of the Country (and the commander in chief of the military incidentally) would post something expressing some compassion towards those who had died. But no - he's straight into the blame game.

This from the BBC at 22:59 local USA time…..

US President Donald Trump says he has been "fully briefed on the terrible accident which just took place at Reagan National Airport".

"May God Bless their souls," he says in a statement.

"Thank you for the incredible work being done by our first responders.

"I am monitoring the situation and will provide more details as they arise.”
