It has already been mentioned on here how perhaps keep playing the same non scoring strikers perhaps takes away competition in the squad. Isnt that how Potter affects results?
He clearly doesn’t fancy Tau, he sees him every day so that’s his judgement. As soon as Connolly and Welbeck are fit he’s been trying them and playing them. Tried Lallana up front as soon as he’s properly fit and it nearly paid off as on a different day he could have had the match ball.
Now you feel having never really seen Tau that he’s worth the gamble, but you may not feel like that if you were seeing him in training games and he looked out of his depth. I don’t know. As for his other options, I think he’s been consistently trying them all when they’re fit, and in different combinations.
