I agree with Keegans Syrup but we need wins to boost confidence to get us through the other games against tougher opposition so I stand by 2 wins or at the very least a win and a draw, or i think we are toast.

After today West Brom have virtually gone now.

The final place will go to Fulham. They have been fortunate in games recently. Their keeper has won them a lot of points.

If Fulham lose tonight then Brighton have two games to put 3 or 4 points between them and Fulham. If that happens all Potter needs to do is grind out one more win and a couple of draws after that because Fulham won't amass 10 points in the run in. They just aren't a good enough side.

I’m not saying it will be good!!

I’m just saying it’s not definitive we’ll go down if we don’t win both.

Players need game time to get up to speed. Some players don't train well but have big affect on the pitch. I think he needs to tinker until something works.

In 2020 we were the very last professional team to win a game. He had 3 month to think about things and he managed to come up with a solution. He can do it. He just needs to figure things out.

I guess your saying he has tried them out when they are fit. Potter raved about zeqiri yet he has got on the pitch 1 maybe 2 prem games. Tau has 2sppearences. As you say maybe doesnt fancy him. I agree he has given connelly chances and played Lallana and Welbeck. Maybe the answer to our scoring problem is a combination of both zeqiri and tau, he wont know unless he gives them a chance on the pitch.

Many NSC optimists have pointed out that we could easily win matches against the big spenders.

We might get lucky eg ManC, ManU and Chelsea each get a whole load of key injuries, or naively rest too many players before European ties

I often wonder if there’s a happy medium whilst the club build a squad fit for the GP/DA dream.

With; always in place defensive midfield cover, plus if Veltman or Burn advance forward, someone else covers?

A bonus point just handed to Brighton tonight by Scott Parker in the battle to stay up.

The panelists were so wrong to praise Fulham and Parker for playing bravely .

No one anticipated them not losing to Man City but they just doubled their negative goal difference so that's like another point in the bank tonight for Brighton. Naive at best by Scott Parker but a shot in the arm for Brighton going into tomorrow's match against Southampton

I didn’t think GP did a lot different to what he’s been trying in other matches. He’s changed again to try to find goals with Welbeck and Maupay up top together for the first time this year. We went with a 4-4-2 which was pretty flexible first half as we always seem to be a bit asymmetric, but at HT he changed things regardless of whether that was forced or not through injury as he just tactics not just personnel. We also looked to get the strikers in quicker which we’ve done before but it does mean you concede possession more often.

That said, the players have to deliver, the equalizer could have been a hammer blow to a side in our position with our recent run, but we responded so well, it really galvanised the side and I don’t think anyone could deny the spirit in the side is still really there.

It is a win that needs to be backed up with more results, but great to see the variations and tactical flexibility today.

sorry to moan but Maupay and Wellbeck often chase the same ball and get in each others way ......the concept of creating space for each other seems to be lost particularly on NM , having said that his confidence is just shot at the moment , i see no reason to not sit him on the bench and let Percy Tau start a game , if he does'nt perform then put a fresh Neal on at 60-65 minutes ...

It's going to be so tough.
Looking at all remaining fixtures for Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham, I'm anticipating each team to gain 6-9 points total.
It could go down to the last couple of games for all of us.

I think that's about right but with Newcastle and Fulham needing 3 in their last game to achieve the 9. It's going to be very close but I can see the Geordies filling the last spot and there will be the most spectacular melt down.

It means punters have placed more money on Newcastle to go down than Brighton, the bookies have responded by making Brighton to go down a more attractive bet, and Newcastle a less attractive bet, in the hope of achieving a more balanced book, so they don't get hammered if it is Newcastle that goes down.
