Been getting my fat bike out the last few weeks! Arrived in early December.

Glad to be able to continue through the winter, but feel like I exert twice the energy i would on my gravel bike in order to go half as far, in twice the time! Loving the exploration though. Able to get places I wouldn't otherwise be able to in the summer.

If anyone is interested, the British Cyclocross Championships are being held this weekend at Ardingly Showground.
Youth races tomorrow, and the U23 / Elite races are on Sunday. Unfortunately Pidcock wont be there (something about training camp in Mallorca with a team called Ineos?) but the likes of Cameron Mason, Zoe Backstedt, Anna Kay and Millie Couzens will be racing!

Being less than impressed by the bike service carried out by a local shop - guy who's been in the business for donkeys years, and should be great - I want to get back to self-maintenance. Front derailleur now not working well at all after chain replacement - despite operating on bike stand, he says.

Can anyone recommend a manual that covers full maintenance techniques for an Cyclocross bike please? I'm not concerned about the complexity; always used to do this in my youth, but need to understand the ins-and-outs of the mechanics and settings.

Obviously there are Youtube videos as well, like Global Cycle Network which seem good. Any others?

And on the subject of recommendations, does anyone have experience of a good helmet camera? Budget £200 (possibly increase that a bit if there's a buy now, pay later option). Ideally, it should be fairly sleek (say, more bullet-shaped than boxy Go-Pro), and should record well in low light.

Using it for urban commuting, cycling around town, short hops from A to B. More for safety than for capturing pretty scenery. My old one was £40 from Aldi, strangely it only lasted a year or two.

My mate swears by his Garmin Virb Elite (front), & Cycliq Fly 6 (rear) - gets between 3 & 4 hrs run time on both, and decent quality picture / sound.

I find a selection of YouTube videos give the right answer. Park tool videos are comprehensive, also most of the independent ones are good.
