Anyone cycle fanatics in the Eastbourne area? Do you know a ' cycling evangelist' by the name of Toby Field?

Hopefully heading off to the IOW for the weekend to catch it!

** Although looking at accommodation prices, maybe it will just be an early train down there with the bike for a day...

Tour de la Provence starts in earnest today after yesterdays prologue...and the inevitable Ganna win.

One of my favourite early season races (SO much better than the middle east races) - a proper leg test for the riders already.

Crikey, indexing the front der for R7000 is the stuff of witchcraft!

You're probably using the wrong bait.

Anyone want to have a bash at fantasy cycling again?

I've only done the Classics games on Velogames the last couple of seasons, as stage races are even more of a lottery with Covid withdrawals.

SuperClassico (a whole season of one day races) and Spring Classics should be up on the site this week as it's Omloop Het Nieuwsblad next weekend to kick everything off.

If there's any takers, newbies especially welcome, I'll set up a NSC League again, unless one of the other regulars fancies setting it back up?

Cycling for Ukraine Humanitarian Aid

On the afternoon of 17th March 2022, Charlie Tanfield is hosting the latest Legacy 300 VIP Charity Days at Lee Valley Velo Park, these GB Gold Medallist hosted days have since 2014 raised over £517K for good causes.

Participants will be taking on Charlie’s flying lap time in their Beat The Medallist fundraising challenge. Charlie sets a time, you set your time, and the fundraising you do gives you time off bonuses to help you Beat the Medallist

Earlier in the day from 10.00am there is the opportunity for cyclists to take up this challenge and raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine and surrounds. The Institute of Fundraising and Civil Society have both produced an up to date list of those agencies working on the ground to which your personal donation pages can support.

Please contact david@legacy300.com to book your place, you will need to make a small contribution to cover the cost of track, coaching staff and bike hire, this would be a maximum of £60. Neither Charlie or myself will be making any from these sessions, just to head that one off.

This is posted on www.facebook.com/legacy300 to help you share to your cycling buddies.

very VERY nice mate.

I got my first (Peugeot) big boys racer from JS in Worthing when I was 14 . . we used to lust after one of his frame sets . . . I found this a few years ago and collected bits to build, £400 all in!

Its very racy and I don't much ride it truth be told, but it is a lovely bike.

I'd very much like to find a 23" JS frame with a more touring stance, shallower rake. . . . and campagnolo it up!

I love the old steel frames and have been toying with the idea of getting an old ebay project to do up with period parts...got to pay off our holiday before I do though!

Theres a YT channel I've started watching btw, which renovates old road bikes - well worth a watch. Its called BikeIt UK. Some lovely old school machines on there that have been lovingly restored....

Here's my baby as shes currently set up. A nice mix of old style Columbus steel & modern components. Would love to switch to all Campag parts (in silver) but that may be a bit too expensive!
