I love the old steel frames and have been toying with the idea of getting an old ebay project to do up with period parts...got to pay off our holiday before I do though!

Theres a YT channel I've started watching btw, which renovates old road bikes - well worth a watch. Its called BikeIt UK. Some lovely old school machines on there that have been lovingly restored....

Here's my baby as shes currently set up. A nice mix of old style Columbus steel & modern components. Would love to switch to all Campag parts (in silver) but that may be a bit too expensive!

I'm still toying with the idea of handing you my old BianchiLiquigas frame (which has long since be canablised) and Jnr's solid frame but trashed old Spech Hard tail, my 'box of random cycling stuff' and some cash, just to see what you give me back.

My JS frame has CInelli lugs, I didn't realise they made frames.

I have been drooling at Bianchi frames . . . the 60's/70's and even 80's bikes where so pure, simple but effective.

Cinelli have a long and storied history - a brief rundown is on this page.

I totally agree re: retro frames - something about them that just scream class & heritage.

My Spooner frame is 1986, has Cinelli lugs throughout. I also have a Josport ( John Spooner) bike with a Columbus tubed Simoncini frame

The history of Obrea will also make you want to rush out and buy one.

Sadly neither of my Bianchi's class as 'retro classics', although they're getting close.

This ISN'T my Liquigas one, as said over the years that's been dismantled to just frame, forks bars, saddle and Celeste bar tape!
But it did once look like this (ish)

Sounds lovely! Columbus own Cinelli, so are an Italian thoroughbred through & through. Love all the Italian frame building heritage....you need to put up a pic of your Simoncini too!

Which reminds me...Strade Bianche this Saturday - woop woop!!!

Velogames Fantasy League now set up.
Our league code is 534478917.

Link to the site here: https://www.velogames.com/superclasico/2022/

I will only be entering the SuperClassico and Spring Classics games. I won't be doing any stage races. SuperClassico starts with Strade Bianche this Saturday.

If you want to do stage races as well then see the drop down menu for Paris-Nice which is first up, and also the Stage Race Championship that will run all season.

Velogames is completely free and very simple rules. Basically you just pick a team and let it run for each race. Pick a new team for each new race.

Info on rules and scoring in the drop down menu from the link above.

All entries welcome. The more the merrier.

Great Strade Bianche on Saturday...especially the image above! Although Pogs 48km move was fantastic to watch, I did kind of feel the race was over once that huge pile up occurred just after it went live on TV. So many riders who would've been in with a shout of a win taken out by that insane gust of wind across the peloton. Still enjoyed it though - love that race. Really regretting swapping out Quinn Simmons & Valverde from my fantasy team though...doh.

Paris Nice this week...and a brilliant 1-2-3 from Jumbo Visma yesterday. Visions of Mapei a few years ago at Roubaix....

Season is in full swing now - & Im again grateful we have GCN as an option, meaning I can sit in the office all afternoon watching the races while..."working"

And a mention for Vlooters too in the women's race. 39 with a # pelvis last October doubting her motivation to return runner up only because of being hung out to dry (fair move) on the final corner. What a girl.

*Spoiler Alert*

Dont read if you dont want to know todays Paris Nice result...but

All I will say is - after his horror crash last year, Jakobsen is by far the best sprinter in the peloton right now. Pure POWER. Great to see.

Used to do a lot of road cycling, but stopped years ago when I nearly got knocked off my bike. I still like watching all the races on Eurosport. I do miss cycling.

I am thinking of getting the following mountain bike, at least I can keep off the roads.
https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Cube-Aim-Pro-Mountain-Bike-2022-Hardtail-MTB_242670.htm

My workmate bought a Cube MTB a few years ago...VERY good bikes. Go for it!

Also - Im loathe to use online stores, but Tredz are very easy to deal with, & with the finance options it makes things much more affordable. I've bought my last 2 bikes through them...

Good to get some feedback here, especially on the manufacturer. Will order the bike next week.
