Has always had potential - just maybe this is the turning point to realising it.

I suggest Slade kicked his ass into gear along with a few others. Worked wonders. :) More of the same please Russell!

Or Slade may be a good enough man manager to recognise that " a kicking" doesn't motivate all players.

Hmm... dunno about that really. Cox has always had the ability and ball skills to play like he did, and IF applied he could have scored hats-full before now.
I have a feeling Adams wasn't encouraging our players to take their chance and have a dig whenever they saw it was 'on' to do so.

Incidentally, did anyone else think, as soon as Nicky F picked up that ball on the edge of the area for his second, that it was as-good-as in the net already? After a couple of disappointing scuffs, the determination was as clear as the shirt on his back - he was going to get that one!

Yes, a relatively easy game to 'hold' our position as a possible surviving club in this division - and we still have it all to do. However, I see that as a good exercise in what can be achieved when players potentials are freed-up for them to express themselves.

It's all part of the mantra 'playing to our strengths', and after most of a season without that - it's a welcome return if yesterday is anything to go by.

Sensible reply! I'm delighted to see Cox answering some of his critics (including me) with a very good display against Yeovil. If he does it regularly-even better. Still wonder why he has under-performed for so long in an Albion shirt-some of that comes from within and he must accept some responsibilty.

He did have a good game yesterday though-no denying that.

His performance was more like those that encouraged a Premiership side to enquire about him and him to say no thanks not yet. Lets hope we see many more in the coming games. Just one down side please Coxy let Carole or Livermore take the deadball kicks.

Most revealing statement IMHO from the SCR post-match interviews yesterday was Cox saying that they'd worked so hard in training - on fitness, tactics, "everything really" - that they were coming home afterwards and going straight to sleep.

I think we're seeing the real difference Slade is making on the players - and in a WEEK! - and not just Cox.
