I was right behind it - not watching on TV. It swerved and dipped all over the place.

But it was always heading towards that side of the goal and Ankergren had time to get there and get his body behind it. Not a howler, but he should have done better.

EDIT: Just watched it again, the block behind the goals was empty wit some sort of sheet over the seats. How were you right behind it?

Anyone who actually went to the game tonight will tell you that Casper was outstanding.
In the first half he made some incredible saves as they laid siege to our goal. He even came for a cross and caught it cleanly!
The goal was a screamer which swerved and dipped at the last moment. The real question is when are we going to learn that players in this league will score from 25 yards if you let them have a free shot.

Absolutely, can't believe some radio bound idiots are slagging Casper off. Couldnt do a thing about the goal, my man of the match. At least have the audacity to criticise if youve actually been at the game.

I was at the game, and casper played a blinder tonight. He was serenaded many times by our fans, due to how outstanding he was.

The goal, for them, was absolutely amazing!

Sorry

This I saw this thread and my heart sunk. I'm still buzzing. He was fantastic tonight!

Casper kept us in the match in the first half.
A lot of idiots on here obviously listening to their radios, instead of supporting 'your' team and cheering on 'your players.
As DanielIT said...we were singing his name through out the game, as he kept us in the game through out. I thought the shot swerved a hell of as well, from where I was standing (adjecent to the edge of the 18-yard box)

Just watched highlights on Ssn and it was not a mistake the ball went all over the place and ankergren got a hand to it at full stretch would not say it was a mistake he made a superb save from a corner in the first half on highlights

A mistake? The Millwall player absolutely hammered it and it moved in about three different directions. Ankegren did well to even get a hand to it. And made a couple of excellent saves first half. There really are some f***ing morons on here.

Indeed, I was sitting right behind the goal, and it was a belter. I must admit I thought Ankergren had kept it out - if he had, we would have been congratulating a great save. And one he made in the first half was point blank. The midfield, with the exception of Bridcutt, were a nightmare again. And why, yet again, was our second striker out on the left wing?

Utter shit, utter shit.

Just got back from the game and that goal came out of nowhere.

Pulled off a wonder save in the first half. There are a number of problems with the side at the moment and the goalkeeper isn't one of them.

First time I got to see Harley tonight and really wasn't impressed.

But we are 9th? in the league - get a f*cking grip.

I was driving home from work on the M25 waiting for the full time score to come in. The longer I didn't hear anything the better. Then at 9.33 by my clock, Radio 5 announced Millwall had equalized. They didn't give a description of the goal. I swore and said to myself 'I hope it's not another mistake by Ankergren.' I have just got home and looked at NSC and this thread is here.

He did a very good job last year and I'm sure he could still do a good job in League 1. I will always remember him fondly when he eventually moves to another club. This however is the championship and he is costing us points.

Against Hull he put in a satisfactory performance because of two good saves. One was hit right at him and the other was a good height for him. I believe he enjoyed a bit of a sympathy vote in the man of the match poll from the extremley loyal fans who can never see anything wrong with any player/manager that works for the Albion and they used this opportunity to say 'There you go, that's shut you up' to all us doubters in his ability at this level at this time in his career.

I hope we look at getting a new number one in January and make the decision to keep either Ankergren or Brezovan as our second choice.

Looking at the highlights, there is a cover over the bank of seats right behind the goal. Is there an upper tier you were sat in, or are you to the left of the goal, not quite right behind it?

Seeing the goal on ssn I would say you make the shot seem more difficult to save than it was. The ball was clearly going to that side of the goal, what movement there was on the ball was minimal and made no change to which side of the goal it was going to, and gus had enough time to get there to cover it. He definitely should have saved it. I'm reluctant to call it a 'mistake' though because that seems to me to evoke something more clumsy or more like making an obviously nonsensical and wrong choice, this just seemed like he was too slow to react.

Think you're being a bit unfair on Gus there, he was in the dugout when the ball was struck so would have done well to get there in time to stop it.

Just got back, Casper was MoM. Kept us in it with some amazing saves.
People should really stop making threads like these when they werent actually at the game.
