But it was always heading towards that side of the goal and Ankergren had time to get there and get his body behind it. Not a howler, but he should have done better.

EDIT: Just watched it again, the block behind the goals was empty wit some sort of sheet over the seats. How were you right behind it?

Obviously in the top tier you dick, but directly in line with the flight of the ball.

This post just about sums up the utter tools we've inherited since moving into the new stadium. Hopefully, your seat will be taken by someone who actually WATCHES football next season.

At the risk of repeating others Casper was superb tonight. Nothing he could have done about the goal and even if he could the wonder save in the first half would have leveled it out. That save was sensational.

Just got back, Casper was MoM. Kept us in it with some amazing saves.
People should really stop making threads like these when they werent actually at the game.

This.

I was also right behind that shot - he had no chance! Man of the match - spooky how those that went thought he was superb, and those that sit at home think they know best!! Get off your arses and go if you are going to slag off the team

I'm not a Casper-slagger by any means, never have been as he is so important to the way we set ourselves up to play and on the whole he's usually pretty reliable.

But having seen the goal on SSN tonight, the guy has hit it from a mile out. Caspers NOT at full stretch, he's gone to his left and got both hands to it, but its gone through him. Reminded me of one of those numerous ones we'd see flying in past Graeme Smith - he's there, but somehow he's not kept it out.

Other than that it sounds like he had a cracking game, but sorry, from that replay it looked like it should've been a routine save.

That save in the first half diving backwards denying what looked a nailed on goal... sensational.. I can't think of a better save I've ever seen live.

100% this and others who were there tonight. We were in the upper tier which was about 2 feet above the crossbar with the goal line about 6 foot forward from us so we were in a perfect position to see the flight of the ball and Ankergren's positioning. I was to the left of the goal where it went in. As had been previously said, the ball was swerving all over the place and just snuck in under the crossbar and probably took a coat of paint off with it. Ankergren may have just got a glove to it but it had so much power, he couldn't have stopped it. His first half saves were incredible and kept us in the match.
Don't listen to commentators and then slag off players, unless you make the effort to go to the game, you should keep your opinions to yourself.

In the first half, the save when he was wrongfooted, sticking an arm out to claw it out, was absolutely world class. That's what started the chanting of his name. He made several other really good saves but there's no denying he should've done better with the goal, long time to see it coming, not that much pace on it, got two hands to it and could only push it in the corner. Still think he's a better option than Brezovan.

I haven't had the benefit of a replay but didn't think he could have done much about the goal when watching it live, was a cracking strike.

Spot on. Nothing wrong with Casper's performance tonight. Couldn't believe this was the first thread I saw upon getting home and firing up NSC. What a bloody waste of internet space.

It is a real shame, because he had bounced back with two very timely and solid displays until that incident. But the guy should save it from there, no question at all. And, unlike last season, things like that are going to cost us dear this season.

Same with the penalties. When you think about it, it's amazing all the missed penalties didn't cost us more last season in the promotion hunt. If we miss seven penalties this season, it's probably going to cost us 10-15 points.

Well, apart from the shot from 30 yards that he should easily have saved and cost us two points. Before that, he was very good, as he was on Saturday. But that's what being a good goalkeeper is about, not making the errors.

i think he should have saved the shot for the equaliser - i was right behind it and he seemed to have it then it went through his hands - could be wrong as havent see replay. But he kept us in it in the first half.... state the bleeding abvious here but keep mistakes always look worse..... oh hang on just remembered harley's penalty "attempt" what a ****......
