How quickly fortunes change. A few injuries around him and suddenly his side is playing with no confidence and are poorly organised.
And you start to wonder if he is a future world class striker.

Recency bias and all that, but would you prefer to have Mitoma or Palmer in your starting line-up?

He’s not a striker and he’s already world class.

He was sensational last season for Chelsea for long periods when the rest were awful.

A couple of quiet games against us is a bit too soon to write him off!

Just far enough away from LDC
I heard a stat from my chelsea supporting work colleague that (prior to last night) since end Oct he has created 31 chances for his team mates of which only 1 has been converted.

It seems that it's not his levels dropping but those around him. He ended up coming deep for the ball last night because he simply can't trust anybody else in the team. He is a generational talent playing in a mediocre team

Palmer. I love Mitoma but Palmer is a level above.

He’d looked crap last night because the rest of his team was crap. There was a stat about the number of opportunities he’d created recently but how only one was converted into a goal.

Edit: the poster above me beat me to it and had the actual stat!

Mitoma. Great player, but even better all round human being. Couldn't generate the same enthusiasm to support the mardy orc...

I love Mitoma and I can’t stand the gormless, rude Chelsea ***** but, come on, Palmer. He’s an amazing footballer. Moving to a different club would make him more likeable.

...and a hair cut. A new haircut. Definitely need a new haircut too.
Youd have thought, with the amount of money they earn, they'd be able to afford to get all of it trimmed.

anyway, there's clearly a reason Citeh were glad to see the back of him . . . Massive NDP failure

I agree, contrary to some views on here, I actually thought he played well. He couldn't do anything about the useless rubbish around him. Amazing what a billion pounds will buy isn't it!

Looking a bit overhyped to me. Yes he’s had a few good games. He needs to reproduce this a bit more often.

Is this not consistent enough for you?

Wouldn't surprise me if City had some sort of sell on agreement in his transfer fee. Which might make it worth their while trying to sign him back in the summer. A player of his quality won't want to be playing Euro Conference league football forever. Depends if City get relegated by the PL of course. But it would be hilarious to see the One Man Team lose their one man. Caicedo is brilliant but your team isn't going to win anything if he's your only star.

I’m not saying he isn’t good, he clearly is, but the way he’s been hyped you’d think he’s world class. He isn’t. His record against top 6 teams is quite patchy, good against lesser teams, not so good against the bigger ones…inconsistent. Flat track bully maybe. If Chelsea get into the Champions League and starts dictating the games at the business end of the tournament I’ll reassess ….until then I’ll say he’s overrated and slightly above average.

He is world class.

Anyone who produces those stats over two seasons in the Premier League (for a pretty average team) is world class.

If your bar is set by turning up in the biggest games then is a goal in the Euros final a good start?
