As an aside, I was quite surprised to see his father is black. Palmer couldn’t be any more white if he fell into a bucket of bleach.

The story of his family arriving from Trinidad, and their support for him, and his acknowledgment of this, is a good read.

He’s a high quality player but was getting visibly irritated with some of the other Chelsea players who for whatever reason weren’t quite on his wavelength.

Do we care ! I’m very pleased they weren’t on his wavelength, could have made it a much harder game.

I'm not sure he had a bad game. Our tactics forced the game into the middle of the pitch and removed the space where he likes to drift or slide in passes.

Effectively, FH negated him rather than him personally having a bad game. This was evident as he ended up playing deeper and deeper looking for the ball.
As has been posted above, Palmer is missing Jackson who would open up spaces for him to run into. Combined with our tactics and Chelsea’s insistence on playing it out from the back on Friday, we nullified him in the last two games.

Wikipedia

Palmer is of Afro-Kittitian descent on his father's side of the family.[91][92] His grandfather, Sterry (born 1953), emigrated in 1960 aged six,[92] while his great-grandparents were part of the Windrush generation, migrating five years earlier.[13] Palmer emblazoned his boots with the flag of England and the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis.[13]

He seems to speak well.about his background and heritage. Not sure why there's such a widely held dislike of him as a person (aside from the entirely justifiable case based on who he plays for).

He's young and a highly talented footballer. OF COURSE he's a cocky young man with a bad haircut. It's pretty much a legal requirement.

And as for comments on his looks....well, post a photo of yourself (and those that sit around you at matches) and let's see how he measures up before we cast nasturtiums eh?

Need to be able to read it though.

As an aside it has to be acknowledged that the Iron Maiden font particularly in conjunction with Eddie has to go down as the greatest marketing tools in music history.

As for Palmer I think he's possibly too good for Chelsea and their inconsistencies. We've played him well in both matches but his frustration with teammates on Friday was really evident.

As much as I despise Chelsea, it’s undeniable that Palmer is an exceptional talent. As even their own fans admit, they got lucky with him. He was bought as a last-minute, almost panic buy after Nkunku was injured in a pre-season friendly. He cost £40m and was seen as a pretty random punt.

A few months earlier, I thought he looked like a great young player when he came on for City at the Amex in the Enciso wonder-goal game. There was some chat on here about whether he was worth going for, if I remember right, with a range of opinions.

He’s one of the most instinctive footballers I’ve ever seen. He can just glance up and stroke a pass into a channel for a player who hadn’t even realised a channel existed for them. He sees opportunities without having to think. A bit like Gazza. A total natural. I’d love it if his current frustration led him to a more deserving club though it would be annoying to see Chelsea get the £100+ million they could demand.
We went in very hard for him he was a top target....sadly as per usual Chelsea copied us.
