Humdrum brown sold the gold at delboy prices without informing anyone as was his usual practice..he was warned of his stupid act by his own colleague Alistair darling and the entire shadow treasury at the time..this clown is solely responsible for all our troubles and cokey Osbourne unfortunately is the only hope we have!
The imbecile told the whole f***ing world what he was going to do, giving everyone plenty of time to get nicely short, knowing that the market was going to be overloaded with a huge seller in the coming weeks.

yes , my cousins 19 year old daughter has had hers taken away , for her "dyslexia" , apparently this means she cant work, she's certainly never had a job in her life, and it was without any question, disability benefit not unemployment benefit that she was on, never mind , shes just had her first baby so thats that problem sorted, strangely her dyslexia has never stopped her from posting on facebook all day every day.

Yes of course. How stupid am I. That one example means that evryone is like that doesnt it.

He sold the gold in 1999. Labour won elections in 2001 and 2005.

If the whole country were as up in arms as you seem to claim, it didnt translate very well at the polls did it?

We will see how well the current economic strategy has gone down with the electorate in due course.

By spending more and borrowing more? while also cutting services and jobs which will lead more problems long-term?

why would they care they can for themselves or their families afford private and anyway they look like they won't be in long enough to care anyway

As Sandy Toksvig once said - Ah, Tories, the people who put the "n" in cuts.

The present government does seem to be doing pretty well at hammering those who deserve it least in to the ground. Whatever happened to the (obviously oxymoronic) concept of compassionate conservatism.

not heard that one before
"compassionate conservatism" I laughed then but I am afraid it is no longer a laughing matter when did the tories ever care about anything other than themselves are trying to look good while doing it never trust a smiling tory or for that matter any politician they are mostly all self-serving, pocket lining bastards

That proves how much you know, or dont know as the case may be, he sold it over 3 years , and as we both know he paid for his economic strategy with the proceeds of the sale as well as huge borrowing and the abolition of ACT on dividends , thus totally and utterly wrecking what was the best funded private pension system in the world.

My own pension pot more than halved as a consequence.

anybody would be a crap chancellor with the amount of debt he picked up, wish they would sort the economy out regardless, then I can come back home and get myself a teaching job. Then I could see the albion again.

Why do you need the economy to improve before coming back? For most of us the biggest issue during tough economic times is uncertainty over employment, but teaching is a profession which isn't really affected by this.

Was I right about them winning two elections though?

Great answer, like i said , my point stands if you think this is an isolated case.

No it doesnt because if you knew anything about what I do, and have done, for a living since the mid 1990s you would know that I have worked in the area of fraud investigation for all of that time, much of it in benefit fraud.

Still dont let that get in the way of anything.

Long live the Daily Mail!

yes , of course you were , but that wasnt the point we were arguing was it ? the point is , brown bought the masses with money he/we didnt have.

And my point is that you keep on throwing this point in when really it doesnt matter to anyone.

I will also be right about the polls at the next election reflecting public opinion on the current shambles.

By the way 1999-2002.
