You've not seen that Luxembourg under Juncker has been allowing Amazon to get away with millions of Euros in tax? Also, doesn't the fact that the EU haven't had their accounts signed off by the auditors for years concern you? And that's before we get to the Irish government and Apple. It's a stinking mess and we're well out of it.

Not sure about this auditor stuff will have to look it up but with the Irish govt and Apple isn't it the EU who is fining Ireland for undermining the EU - which is good for EU business?

EU is telling Ireland they havent taxed Apple correctly. Ireland says, yes we have according to our law (sales outside of Ireland aren't counted taxable revenue). EU says that law is wrong, change it. They actually have changed, but thats not enough for the EU, who want them to charge retrospective taxes. Ireland dont really want to because Apple is a major employer and frankly the EU should butt out.

The problem with this thread is that we are irrevocably leaving the EU and some of you just dont get it, each step isnt to remain but to leave and therefore each step will never find favour with any avid Remainers political position, your 'bumbling' might be a Brexiteers 'standing firm', your hapless might be my 'determined' and so on, its nearly become a pointless exercise, ultimately the process of leaving is owned by us the Brexiteers and it hurts you.

A leader could say "we have explored this and it is not going to work, we are not ready and leaving would, in all likelihood irrevocably damage the country so I have worked with the EU and cancelled article 50."

In conclusion this is not irreversible yet. No matter how much people say it is. It will probably happen but it might not.

private sector bank deposits at an all-time low
Disposable income per capita almost halved since 2010
More than half the country now unable to provide emergency needs
Greek institutions as weak or dysfunctional as ever
Tax refunds due to be paid by government near record levels
Tax receipts have plummeted,

Consequently most Greek banks are now at risk
Greek private sector arrears to banks and the state stand at 130% of GDP. Excluding Cyprus, the next nearest in the EU is Ireland on 20%
