Not all of our problems are due to Brexit.... but a substantial load of them are....

and millions of people were misled into thinking Brexit was a solution to our problems; they were lied to.

I am pleased you and dsr-burnley have 'found each other' though

No the far bigger costs were lockdown for starters. It wasn't seen as a solution but about self determination. I don't know dsr-burnley is I don't do a tribal gang thing but you be you.(y)

Even nearly two years ago, the Chairman of the OBR said Brexit had already had the same impact as the total COVID costs, not just the lockdown bit and we've had two more years of Brexit 'benefits since :shootself

Brexit damage as big as Covid, says OBR

The impact of Brexit on the UK economy is on the same “magnitude” as the Covid pandemic and energy price crisis, the chairman of the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) has said. Britain’s gross domestic product (GDP) will be 4 per cent smaller than if the country had stayed in the EU, the head of the government’s fiscal watchdog confirmed on Sunday.

But maybe an accountant from Burnley will be along soon to tell us that he knows better :facepalm:

Unfortunately with Brexit you got the Vote Leave government, how many PM's did we have between 2015 and 2024 again? I think almost everyone of the parliamentary Tory party became a minister at some point, sometimes only for a day or two.

The fact is they lied and they won, not just the referendum but then a couple of elections too.

They felt vindicated and once this happened it was only ever going to end in disaster.

We've still got Brexit but at least we finally have a stable governance

'Serious structural problems', 'idiots' who ruled us, and 'lockdown'.

No problems caused by Brexit in Crawley then?

Oh well, you are stuck with being you.... and no doubt that means you will carry on waiting for all the mythological Brexit benefits; you know, those promised sunny uplands.

I am happy you have at least one positive endorsement with dsr-burnley, whether you appreciate it or not. I am also happy that your view on Brexit is slowly but surely being successfully challenged and comprehensively trashed.

Its called subsidiarity not bollocks and they were more like "never in" rather than opt outs, they are also arguments of why we should never have entered.
Again, more bollocks. They are legally known as opt-outs. Loads of EU countries have them. The EU is painted as a "one size fits all" organisation when - in fact - they are remarkably flexible. From the EU website:

Opting out

Certain EU Member States have what are known as opt-outs, which are a means of ensuring that when a given Member State does not want to take part in a particular field of EU policy, it can opt out, thus avoiding an overall stalemate.

Examples of opt-outs include:

  • Schengen Agreement: Ireland;
  • economic and monetary union: Denmark;
  • defence: Denmark;
  • EU Charter of Fundamental Rights: Poland;
  • area of freedom, security and justice: Denmark and Ireland (the latter may opt into given initiatives if it wishes).

I have heard it said that Dingo is a biased idiot in denial.

I would be disappointed if this were the case. Saddened, in fact.

Silly old bat
To add, 'authoritarian' regimes generally have armies. The EU doesn't have one, but the 'federal' US has comfortably the largest one in the world.
Ah yes the Lisbon Treaty (2007) where all the gammon were swearing blind would come into force in 2022, and every country in the EU would have conscription into the European Army.

Whatever happened to all those liars?

They’re all still here, they just don’t want to engage because “they won and we should get over it.”

They get a slow handclap from me. Mugs.
