Has anybody ever considered fazing out all of these pies and reverting to more traditional pies at an affordable price that during these harsh economic times more people could afford and thus resulting in more sales. I am probably biased because I would never buy one of the pies as I do not consider them to be value for money as I do not consider the quality to be sufficient to warrant the price charged.
I think they are.

We are talking about a quality product, that will be produced for a 30k crowd, that is a monopoly.

All the time most other venues dish out Pukka for a nominal amount less, we should be very grateful the club, Piglets & Harveys went the extra mile.

There would be meltdown on NSC.

Personnally I just wouldn't have one if they lost the balti and chilli ones as I'm not a pie fan without the spice.

This just goes to show the varying thoughts on this I am sure that I am not alone or in the minority of thinking they would buy one if the price was right but not at the price they are now. It is really down to price and money available on the day rather than wanting a superior product.

I wouldn't buy a Pukka or whatever mass market pie, irrespective of money.

No ones buys balti pies ? Best you explain that to my son who has one every game in the north stand. The contents are quickly eaten then the shell is filled with tommy sauce and then that's eaten. SAVE OUR BALTI'S !!!

I bought a pie pretty much every game last season, not sure I have bought even 2 this season. With all this mention of chilli beef pies I might have to partake at the cup game.

Due to use of eastern europeans by the agency supplier the tick on the box can be completely random.

Eastern Europeans are no more likely to be behind this than the British staff. Numpties are employed regardless of nationality.

You'll be needing to read the whole thread.

The wrong end of the stick was grabbed somewhere along the line.
The Balti's were never in danger, and don't require saving.

I would suggest that the the price is right (maybe not for you or others) as all reports state that the pies are selling in huge numbers. If an inferior product replaced the current pies, then you and others may purchase but would there be sufficient numbers sold to keep the profit/revenue at the current level. Answer: unlikely!

Think you need to read the title and what you wrote !

I just heard that balti pies are being phased out, as nobody is buying them.

Unfreakinbelievable.

There's no way Barber-out should be allowed to do this, esp not now, not in balti pie weather .

Save the balti.

At the time of writing I believed that to be factually correct.

Piglet's have since confirmed, in this thread, that's not the case.

I don't see the point you are making.

I would suggest they sell because there is no choice it is them or nothing. If the club installed burger vans like Reading the sales of pies would drop through the floor. I also disagree with your view on the sales I think that a cheaper pie would have increased sales with smaller individual profit but increased overall net profit.

That's the pie equivalent of watering down the beer.

How does that work again, Brian?

I would suggest they sell, because they are a quality product from a local company, a pie that is unique in the football world to BHA.

£3.90 for a product of this quality compared to £3/£3.50 for a bog standard product is a no brainer for most of our supporters.

Our pies per fan ratio is way in excess of other clubs because of the product.

And you really think the club would sell more pies of a generic nature at a smaller profit????

I would like to see a comparison of net profit between the pies we sell and e.g. Petters. Ours sell at £3.90 but cost how much? Petters sell at £3 perhaps and cost possibly less than £1.

Also there must be many supporters who cannot afford £3.90 for a pie especially if being for more than 1 person.

Is the right answer.
