This is one of the latest things doing the rounds on twitter...

#Arsenal are set to submit a second bid in the region of £45m for Brighton's Ben White. #BHAFC want £50m for the England international but there is hope a compromise can be reached!!

Hope a compromise can be reached? Sorry but why would we compromise on the price? We want £50m+, and you can only afford £45m. Sorry then, fuk off.

This. Why would we want/need to 'compromise' ? If I have something you desperately want that I would like to keep, and have no need to sell, then you're going to pay WAY over the odds to get it off me. Compromise ? LOL.

Look at this twonk

We should 100% sell for 50m.

He's worth nowhere near that. Defending isn't good enough for a top side too I think.

It’s not our job to give market value.

Who cares what you think he’s worth? We decide. That’s how selling works, you make an offer and we decide if it’s a value that’s worth selling. Selling Ben White for £20m after rejecting £25m from Leeds, what a great idea. Impressive logic. Blud.

If the club and Ben decide it's right, I suspect most on here would at least be comfortable with a sale at around £50m...........................but not for those reasons.

Like I would take any notice of someone like Big Wengz or whatever his Twitter name is, most of these clowns commenting probably have never seen Arsenal play live, my guess is he’s from India.

Some Twitter reports in the last ten minutes suggesting a deal has been done with Arsenal for £44m.

Find that very hard to believe myself. Too quick for one thing. I’d have imagined we’d wait to see how the Euros progressed to see if there was any chance of initiating a bidding war. Seems very strange we’d agree terms with the first club that picked up the phone.

Sounds like nonsense to me. Certainly hope so. Think we could get that number closer to £50m. I suppose we might bend if it was up front with significant add-ons.

The definition of market value is either what we’re prepared to sell at.

Can someone remind the Arsenal fans that they are dealing with a world class poker player.

In all seriousness, are "big club" fans actually properly thick? I genuinely wonder if they have a single clue on how transfers work.

We want X player. We should bid 50% of his value. Wait, the selling club don't want to sell? Who do they think they are? Don't they know that we're Arsenal/Man U/Leeds/Spurs etc. We didn't het him? Meh, he was sh!t anyway. Never wanted him.

They seem to have no clue that the selling club has any say and is in fact in the driving seat. They also have no idea that a player's value isn't about how much they're worth in the marketplace, more how much they're worth to the selling club. Was Ake worth £50m as a player? God no. Was that how much he was worth for Bournemouth? Yep, and that's all that matters.

Ignoring Brighton, look at the United bid for Sancho last year. They were clear, you want Sancho, pay £110m. So what do United do? Bid £75m, £80m, £90m and then give up and act like a spurned lover. It's the same this summer, DORTMUND HAVE NAMED THEIR PRICE. Pay it or do one!

Anyway, rant over. At least at the end of the summer I can guarantee one of two things. Either Ben White is still a Brighton player, or we'll have wrung every penny out of a potential transfer. Whichever one happens suits me nicely.

You mean phrases online such as “they are small club” are not enough for us to cave in?

I asked one these profiles if they understood demand and supply, still awaiting a response

Still in Brighton

Ancelotti has given in Madrid the name of Ben White after hallucinating with him in the Premier

Isn’t this tapping up?

I really don’t think Arsenal would be given permission to discuss terms with the player unless a deal between the clubs has been agreed

Correct. They have to agree a fee before agreeing personal terms.

And there’s no way we would be accepting Arsenals current bid whilst there are other clubs possibly making a move.

To add to that I don’t think players in the England camp will be negotiating contracts during the Euros. See captain Kane.
