What a load of shite.

This made me laugh though, presented like it’s some sort of stunning exclusive.

“As revealed by Football Insider last week, Leeds are not expected to join the race for their former loan star.”

Leeds couldn’t afford half of Ben White and if they could, we wouldn’t sell them to him. We use the likes of Leeds to develop our players, not as a destination to send our players to once they have developed!

Based on the Agent who we all saw on TV last year I can see those things happening behind the scenes. However, the key part is TB holds all of the cards. We don't need to sell BUT if the big offer comes in then maybe...It is ridiculous to think just because Arsenal have made the first offer that he will end up there with the potential bids to come from Liverpool/Utd etc.

I’m really not sure there are any players who would choose Arsenal over Liverpool or Man Utd. Arsenal is located in London, which is an advantage, but so is Brentford. The only London team that could compete in this race is Chelsea.

People keeps saying how much we lost last year. They do realise it is accountancy talk. Yes Bloom put more money in but it wasn’t to cover 60 million.

Important point some people are missing - there is no £67m debt! Company finances just dont work like that

Is see that Arsenal are favourites on Skybet to sign Ben White. However, they are also favourites to sign Bissouma, Tariq Lamptey, Zaha and James Maddison.
They can’t think much of their current squad!

Well, nobody does so why should they be different?

The Arse more than any other club needs a refreshed squad, so I am not surprised that loud mouths in certain sectors will link them with loads of players.

Odds must be 1000/1 but whats the chance of BW starting tomorrow ? I'm guessing waist coat will start slabhead to get back into it against 'soft' opposition.

Arsenal have a better long term history of Euro competition, under Wenger they had a seemingly much better environment/atmosphere than either Liverpool/Manure, if you look at the last 20 years. . . . Arsenal , potentially, gives a young player the opportunity to be part of a new chapter, as opposed to jumping on a deteriorating bandwagon ( Liverpool) or a trudging conveyor ( Manure in recent years)

So if Arsenal pay £50m or so for White where does this leave Bissouma? It seems as if Yves had his heart set on going to Arsenal and I doubt that Arsenal will have the £50m for Ben and the £40m for Yves up their sleeves.
If selling Ben meant keeping Yves then I’d accept this, with the caveat that he sign a new contract and we won’t stand in his way of going in a year if the right offer comes in.

I’d be v surprised if Yves stays without a new contract…….higher pay for him, more value for us if/when he eventually leaves. Can’t see the club letting his contract run down to even a year.

Despite the increase of rumours I dont think he is going to move this summer. Next year definitely but I think if he follows up his good first PL season with a very good one, another £25m or so could be added to his value + we'd get to see him for another year.

Probably not likely since your defense looked good in the first game. But if you win tomorrow and the third group stage game turns academic, he'll probably start that one.

That is more likely. Equally likely is slabhead breaking down after 30 minutes and an enforced defensive substitution.

I betr Robertson et all are watching videos on how to Exploit Mings and our chosen left back . . . .

Was going to say the same. Either Biss signs a new contract with us, or he'll be sold (in my opinion). A new contract really wouldn't surprise me at all to be honest. He clearly likes it here, respects Potter, and likes being a key player. The contract will have a minimum release fee, and if we sell White he'll know that we won't stand in his way if a good offer comes in next summer.

Given the choice between Bissouma or White leaving for good money, I suspect 95% of would choose White to leave because we have a lot of cover there.

Intereting to see them using house buying as evidence of where he'll be next season. Don't remember that being relevant to them last year.

Doesn't suit their agenda :) Anyway, it's a load of tosh - but it's been said on here several times too ('Potter has just bought a nice place in Hove, he's not leaving'). In the context of their salaries, and careers where mobility (potentially internationally) is a prerequisite for most to progress (Murray being an exception perhaps), the fact someone may have bought a house is a tiny factor in whether they'll move or not. They can buy and sell houses like they do cars (or keep them and let them out anyway)

Exactly what I thought!
I expect the actual conversation was probably ‘I’ve heard that Arsenal have made an offer. I may end up there’ which is translated to that article.

Equally, he could have just fired up Rightmove and chucked in a search for 5-bed detached houses near the Emirates. Means nothing.

Based on London prices he's going to need £150k per week from Arsenal :)
