None of your buisness
I was one of those people who you are talking about and from my memory I did not moan about " the players and every pass, touch, header you could see." I admit I got rather upset at the crazy substitutions by Booker and White, but I say again I did not moan at every pass, touch and header you could see. In fact on many occasions I remember praising certain players for good tackles or passes.
You must have had difficulty hearing with your headphones on, if that was you.
If that is you with the headphones and hat on, I also don't really remember you clapping everything that is good and shouting C'mon much either.
I feel you are exaggerating what was actually going on and you were definitely being selective with your hearing because on a number of of occasions I praised a player's pass or tackle, how come you didn't hear that?
I admit the person I sit next to and I do moan from time to time but that has not put off the people who sit around us enough to move from the same places that they have sat in since we have played at Withdean.
If you had a problem with our so called moaning, why did you not say something to our faces last night instead of putting it up on a message boards?

I sat 3 rows infront of you and didn't want to gain any unwanted attention over your issue not mine.

How you can defend yourself i don't know considering throughtout the whole match you whinged like you'd been shot, you screamed like you'd just taken it up the arse and you moaned like you'd never been to the Albion before.
I couldn't give a toss if you've sat in those seats for 8 years or 8 days, to make it short and sweet, your ruining it for everyone else!
Now you can keep trying to figure out who I am by using descriptions of fellow albion fans and useless attempts at inviting me to your pub but try to remember, its you who everyone knows not me!!

Ok, if you're one of the people The Truth was referring to, then fine. You sir, acted like a twat in my opinion. But it's not my job to tell you that at a match, it's up to the stewards to step in and have a word. Everyone is entitled to their opinion at a football match, if you want to shout abuse, fine. It's not for me to tell you off. But I am perfectly allowed to form an opinion, and that opinion is that anyone who feels the need to scream and shout abuse all match is pathetic, and I consider these people to be twats. But there are plenty of them.

Secondly, I like the phrase keyboard warrior!

Das Reich, I don't know what your invite was, I'll have a look now and quote. If you're challenging me to a fight, then naturally I'll be paying that no attention at all, for fairly obvious reasons.

I apologise Das Reich, you weren't making an invite, I misread that post.
Southover Seagull, I have no idea where the Nelson is, and also I have no reason to want to meet you. If you want to moan, fine. If I want to consider that twattish behaviour, I will. It's not up to me to tell you how to behave, as I said earlier in my post.

The Nelson is in Trafalgar Street, Brighton. It was just a friendly gesture to have a drink and debate what you call twattish behaivour.
The trouble is that you are relying on The Truth's versions of events, I do not shout personal abuse at the players, I never have done and never will do. I will shout criticisms at players and managers from time to time but never personal abuse.
I can't beleive that no one on this message board moans at the game and how Brighton are playing from time to time.
It seems I am in the category of a bad fan beacuse I admit that I moan at the quality of our play from time to time, if that's the case then perhaps I am a bad fan.
Respect your opinion Ninja Elephant, but just because I moan from time to time that does not make me a twat IMHO!

Drinking from midday before a match? maybe this is the reason for your foul mouthed behaviour? But thanks for the offer, would love to come but instead I'm watching my son play rugby, I would love to invite you along but it seems people like you shouldn't be anywhere near a sports-field of any sort especially around CHILDREN.

I don't drink from midday normally so that can't be the reason for my foul mouthed behaviour.
Perhaps it's because football is a working class game and that foul language has always been associated with it?

I really think you have either got me confused with someone else or are massively exaggerating the amount of so called abuse that I am supposed to have shouted.
I did not shout throughout the whole match like I had been shot or screamed like I'd just taken it up the arse or moaned like I'd never seen the Albion before. Where you get this from I do not know.
The offer of a drink was friendly one, nothing more, nothing less. Where we could discuss our obviously different views on shouting at football matches.
As I said in previous post on this thread I have been sitting next to the same people for a long time and we all get on well together, none of them seem to have a problem with me.
Do you sit in your seat on a regular basis? If so and I am honestly annoying you I will try to moan less, although I honestly don't think my moaning is that bad. I do also postively praise the players and did so on a number of occasions on Tuesday night.

Southover Street Seagull , did you go to Hartlepool when there was flooding screwing up the trains back down south ? Were you with about half a dozen blokes who went for a bevvy at Darlo because the train was delayed for over an hour ? If so all the bullshit is unjustified as you are not that sort of bloke.

I'm looking forward to seeing hoards of four foot tall transexuals with their Mister Blobby cohorts congregate around row K in H block this Saturday and assail you with rubbish jokes.

I wonder if anybody nearby'll moan about 'em?

Yes mate that was me, my father and my mate Danny. We waited in that pub for about an hour and then got the delayed train. I remember it was very nice of the train guards to come in and tell us to drink up because our train was approaching.
The pound a drink bar was also another thing I remember from the day!
Obviously we met you that day, who were you? Sorry my memory has gone as get nearer my forties!

He is one of the few posters you can have an intelligent debate with.

I don't rely on what he said, he made a comment about 2 blokes, it could very well be that the 2 he is thinking of aren't the same as I am thinking of, considering how many people are there shouting abuse, it really could have been anyone. I never said it was deffinitely you, I wouldn't speak as definitively as that. But on the general moaning subject, my only real views are that booing is pointless and shouting abuse is uncalled for and, in my opinion, twattish behaviour. But we've all got twattish elements to our personality, hey, we're only human.

I will pass up your invitation on this occaison, but I have been to known to take in a swift pint at the Brewery Tap on the way to the Withdean.

I once was proud to be known as a Brighton fan, don't get me wrong, I still am but I was proud in a different way, we were all passionate 'supporters'. now we are filled with pathetic moaners who are never satisfied and have no knowledge of what real issues are. I was at the York game, and the Hartlepool fans utd. I remember watching two 0-0 draws at the Goldstone v Chester and Cardiff thinking that really was a shit game but NEVER did I boo. I gave support with the hope the club would rise again, and it did and still will. But the current pathetic moaners and wingers are not helping and drag the club back

Agree there 100%. It is the moaners and the booers who are jeopardising this club's future.

Ok fair enough Ninja, I think we have slightly different views on moaning, I think it is acceptable in small does and if it is not personal either, I also think that booing is ok after a really bad performance.
Haven't been to the Brewery Tap for a while, may do that for the next home game against Southend, I will PM you if I am definitely going.
Enjoy the game on Saturday and let's hope we get three points!

I did all you did during the dark days and didn't boo the team or management then, but don't you think it was different then?
It was us against the club board and the authorities, so the performance on the pitch didn't get the same attention it does today.
I admit I do moan a bit and have booed when I have seen what I think is a terrible performance, how else are the management team going to know if the supporters are happy or not if people didn't moan occasionally or boo after bad performances?

you've just proved my point I'm afraid. Yes, things were different but the fans stuck behind the squad and team on the pitch. I believe 100% that the reason we got back from a 14 point gap was because the supporters actually supported the players and we pulled through together. Now I feel the fans that boo and moan are NOT helping the players who will be affected and lose confidence and end up making mistakes because of it. Yes they are proffesional footballers and maybe should be above it but if someone was constantly saying your shit at your job, I think you would be affected negatively

Another reason we got back from a 14 point gap was the fact we had a good manager in charge after the disaster of Jimmy Case!
Are you telling me that you have never moaned or booed at a football match before because of Brighton's poor performance?
I personally think some people place to much importance on the moaning as to players performance, I think they ignore most of it, however I do think the really personal stuff could affect players and this is the sort of criticism even I disagree with.
Obviously our opinions are different on the subject, but this is football and it is a game about opinions, that is what makes it so great to watch and discuss.

give it a rest man!

YOU identified yourself as one of the moaners that The Truth was on about.... then you go on and on trying to justify yourself and say that actually, you're not too bad. either it was you he was referring to or not. if it was, then i can see no reason why his first post would be untruthful (pun intended).

everyone moans, of course they do, but i try and restrict it to conversational level to those i'm sitting next to. if i SHOUT it's postive or when it's negative, it's directed at the ref or the opposition, not at our players. there are exceptions, I'm no angel, but shouting negative shit loudly, ad nauseum, is tiresome to be around and yes, will affect the teams performance.

anyway, get over it! at least this thread might make some people take a more positive approach, even if it's only for a game or two!

Yes I identified myself as one of the the people The Truth is on about, what I have been trying to say is that I am not as bad as they have made out. I have also reiterated a few times now I do not shout at abuse at our players, but some people don't seem to read all what I have said on this particular thread.
The trouble is this is classic NSC, The Truth has posted some stuff about people moaning on here and a lot of people take their word to be fact. I have been tried and hung by the NSC lynch mob already!
I take your point though, I won't go on any longer and agree that this thread may make people have a look at themselves and the moaning may be less over the next few games. It has certainly made me think about it all.
Enjoy the game tomorrow, and let's hope we get the three points we need!

fair enough, at least you have had the balls to say "yes, i moan sometimes". and you appear to be a committed albion fan home and away so i am absolutely not knocking that!

personally, i thoroughly enjoyed the game on tuesday and sat for the first time in the family stand. not a great view but didn't hear much moaning there! i love to watch players like carole and macnulty (reminds me of nathan jones but way better)

By the way whoever was sitting behind me in H block yesterday ruined the game for me. Your jokes where shit and you laugh like mr blobby. Your mate is about 4ft tall and his voice sounds like a transsexual and i have had that seat in row k in H block for years and never experienced a more annoying person than you.

So now your picking on me and my laugh!!!:eek:

I have to say that around us in D block we do try and sing but its getting more and more difficult and we end up sitting in silence for long periods of the game. People are getting so wound up and end up shouting more abuse than getting behind the team

Its weird 1,111 at Millwall sing for 90 minutes and really get behind the team (not playing that much better than the Northampton game), 5,000 at Withdean and no significant vocal support, but lots of aimed abuse at White and players. Withdean is not a fun experiance, I hate it, but wont let the moaners win and will keep going and keep trying to get people to get behind the team.

Falmer is now becoming a reality, we should be a club going forward!
