6 players will never happen, Leslie! Anyway, I don't think we need "cover" players - we have loads of those. What we need are three quality first-teamers who can come in and make a difference, and in my opinion they should be a right-back, a striker, and a midfielder who can get forward and create something.

I would add goalkeeper to that list. I am not 100% convinced about Kuips, even though I like the bloke , it is interesting that sucessive managers have chosen to get loans in ( yes i know he does sometimes appear to be injury prone)

Polegate
Gargan is a centre forward. Not sure about Skinner - think i read on here he's a right winger

RB - Need to sign someone, hopefully Whing.
LB - I would get someone experienced in for a season, chance to bring on Rents even more. Mayo isn't up to it I'm afraid.
CB - Just worry about the fitness of Hinsh, Guy's age means he won't be playing all games (probably) and Elphick is still very inexperienced. Plus Lynch may go (I doubt it but he might).
RW - Cox will most likely play on the left with Frutos as his back up, so say Reid goes there I'm not sure Hart is an adequate replacement or back up anymore in that position. He just hasn't got the pace he once had.
CM - Hopefully we will sign Bertin. That means he and Hammond will start with El-Abd and Fraser as back up. That means we need a more attacing CM as back up for Hammond.
Striker - Difficult one, we need someone to come in but who could it be.

I agree that you can mix and match a few here (such as Loft and Robinson) so I was going for top end of 6 but realistically we do need 4. I would say thats the minimum.

The loans have been as cover because he is injured.

I would guess that Flinders was kept on because we could not get clear of relegation and they wanted 2 keepers who could play in the first team and did not trust Sullivan to do that at present. Once this was done, Flinders was in possession of the shirt and did nothing to warrant being dropped. I doubt there was any of this Wilkins does not rate Kuipers which appears from a few on here, after all he has offered him new terms.

Frutos is left footed and has played his best games on the left wing, so not sure it is best to count him as cover for the right wing.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
A lengthy pre-season with the wilkins working out the relationships he desires (in an ungay-shower-scene-way) and the team settling down, recognising each other and having a plan to consider posts good tidings. There has to be an improvement on what's gone on recently, and all members of this limited affair should be weightier and enthused with experience.
Just a shame i can't watch it and calculate things with woken observation rather than imaginings.

Read it again UB I am saying Cox will play on the left with Frutos as his back up there. I am saying that we need a RW backup as Cox will probably play on the left.

Disagree. Paul Reid is ahead of Fraser and El-Abd in the pecking order.
Well if you are classing him as CM then we need an RW and a back up RW.

not exactly a clear out is it?

i assume wilkins thinks that this current squad is good enough.

... which it clearly isn't...
