Logic dictates that if Bertin doesn't sign, El-Abd will play in that role. However, as Bertin has shown the level required, El-Abd is going to have to raise the quality of his game.

For me, El-Abd isn't anywhere near Bertin's quality yet - but that's not to say he won't ever be.

Whe I say 'logic', I mean that is the route Wilkins might well go, bearing in mind the restrictions placed on the number of players we can get in. CM may not well be the top priority spot to fill.

Very good - Equally as good with a fully fit Reid? He looked to be in great form before his injury.

But the point is, he's actually SIGNED players. Under the previous regime, the targets were too high and therefore unachievable. Now, he takes gambles (Savage, Elder, Sam Williams) and some pay off, some don't. Makes you wonder what the f*** McGhee was doing beforehand, if he had the opportunity to make the same gambles.

We've got a good squad, however negative people insist on being. I think once we've got Hammond back and we add a few more seasoned campaigners, we'll be moving onwards and upwards

We have a squad that almost got relegated to division 2 with little hope it will be any stronger next season.
