Adebayor was a complete DICKHEAD for going over to goad the Arsenal fans.
Arsenal fans were complete DICKHEADS for completely over-reacting to it.

As much as everyone can say how Adebayors actions were "hilarious" and totally justified against the gobby Arsenal fans, the consequences were that a steward was knocked unconcious in the meleé. Stewards need players inciting the crowd like they need a hole in the head, and as a result of Adebayor getting a wee bit carried away, thats exactly what one of them ended up with.

the player AND the fans acted together like utter twunts there.

Rooney did the same celebration a couple of seasons back, in the faces of Everton fans.

I'm not sure if he really thought about what he was doing at the time, or if he forgot the politics of the situation he was in by scoring, then celebrating there. He hadn't run the pitch to do it, as he scored into the Everton fans' end of the park.

For my money, he got a yellow and that's what he deserved. A fine might help him think about it, too - and perhaps cover any expense or discomfort caused to the steward.

i really dont want to get into some personal slanging match but its FOOTBALL FOR FUCKSAKE, passion excitement etc, if you dont enjoy your new striker scoring a goal against his supposedly "bigger former club "and then running the length of the pitch to goad the fans that gave him stick for 18 months then perhaps its not for you ?
Which is why stamping on another fiotballers face is even more disgraceful. He celebration was CLEARLY pre-meditated. You can't tell me that was a NATURAL reaction? That would have been ping through his head days before he scored thus adding to his wanker status. I would happily accept abuse if I was being paid 120k a week. I accept it for about 300 a week on a daiy basis, not just during an hour and a half kick about. He knew it would cause trouble, he totally ignored his team mates who mad the goal FOR him, and he stamps on peoples faces. He is a twat. Simple.

If he scored and ignored the arsenal fans and congratulated his new team that would have shown more class that he can put a petty dispute begin him

Having seen their pathetic and embarrassing reaction to Glenn Murray at Brentford, I think we all know the answer to that, but it doesn't make it right.

How was the reaction to Glenn Murray pathetic and embarrassing?
I was there and thought it was justified, the player deliberately ignored fans applauding him at the end, fans that had up until then stuck by him even though he had handed a transfer request in.

Is this wankfest still going ?.

Easy, Arsenal fans were NOT completely over the top for reacting to it. This is what gets me all these BHAFC fans acting as it they would have acted any differently. I have been so incensed at Withdean a few times I have rushed to the track and been very close on many occassions to lobbing my coke bottle at the away managers head or a player that has wound us up and I am a pretty peaceful guy and never been in a serious fight all my life. You would have acted differently ?. BOLLOCKS.

Adebayor incited a riot pure and simple. It was premeditated for weeks with him wanking over the scenorio for weeks prior. Also Adebayor had been mouthing off and slagging off the Arsenal club and fans for 2 months before the game in any paper that would print his sob story.

His stamp on Van Persie was GBH nothing else. He should really be the subject of a Police investigation and 3-6 months in prison.

I will be hoping he gets a 12 match ban at least.

He is a UTTER C*NT.

Course they were over the top, they were going spark bloody MENTAL. Of course I would have hurled some choice abuse at him given the circumstances. But would I have started hurling objects at him and gone charging down to the front of the stand in a blind rage to try and "get at him" ?

Err. No.

Arsenal fans = Dickheads.
Adebyor = Dickhead.

Thats it.

I agree with you. But tbh, I'm not as bothered about the celebration argument.

However, that stamp actually makes me feel sick when I watch it, he should be banned for a very long time after that. It could have turned out a lot worse than it did. I don't know how Mark Hughes can say there was no intention and it didn't even deserve a yellow, you can blatantly see his foot change direction!

That's the astounding thing. SOMEHOW that celebration is overshadowing the REAL issue which was stamping on a fellow human beings face. as I said previously, an inch more and it could have got him
in the eye with a stud. Not even worth bearing thought about. I know it's a what-if but it has to be considered.

just my opinion but i was 12 rows from the front of the away end and it was'nt just mentalists and hooligans who charged towards to the front and threw abuse at him, there were a lot of passionate, 'run of the mill' fans, the type i see at brighton away games who just got carried away wth his actions.

Am I the only one who doesn't think the stamp was that bad?

Anyone that has played park football will have been in a similar situation, when a player tries to take you out and you ride the challenge. Then by coincidence they are on the floor in the exact place where your foot is going to land, you have a choice to either try and land on the ground but probably fall over, or you can land on the player and get some payback. The trick is not to make it too obvious.

I've done it before, never in someones face though :lolol:

It should be a retrospective red card, with a one or two game ban.
