I agree he should get done for it. As you say he's been caught on camera and it was in the blokes face. But some people are saying a 6 match ban and I think that's well over the top. Things like this happen on the pitch all the time, just not quite as obvious.
Like I said, a retospective red card and two match ban.

Don't see how they can impose any ban for the celebration. (1) He has already recieved a yellow card for it (2) The FA already set a precident when the ugly neville sister did a similar thing to Liverpool fans, he got a £5k fine.
The stamp is altogether different. From the first angle it look like he was just trying to put his foot down, from the second angle though there is a clear defined movement towards Van Persie which IMO is deserving of punishment (from the FA not the police obviously).

If one angle shows one thing, and a second angle shows another, how can the FA conclusive say anything about it? One shows it to be accidental, one shows it to be deliberate, how do you know the angle showing it to be deliberate is accurate?

Come on Unc it was hardly a riot. A few fat blokes lobbing hot dogs making the nobber sign does not a riot make. Unless I missed the news of throwing Molotov cocktails and drive by shootings in Islington over the weekend.
At the end of the day we are talking about an overpaid prima donna running ninety yards and sliding on his knees. He hasn’t mugged anyone’s Granny.

I thought Murray was a bit of a plum, but to get dogs abuse from the fans just because he didn't 'respect' them by clapping them was pathetic and embarrassing......................IMO.
Not all the fans were clapping him before or during the game too.

Adebayor was a bit twattish, but
1: It was former rape suspect van Persie, who had gone through the back of him.
2: The Arsenal fans have been giving him stick all summer, what do they expect him to do?
As said before Mark McCammon showed us lot of smartarses who had been giving us stick at Donny a couple of years ago how to go about it the proper way, and respect to him for it.
But Adebayor didn't kill or maim anyone, he slid on his KNEES on the PITCH to celebrate a goal. By all means give him a ban for the Van P incident, but I have seen far worse regularly.

As I see it, they can't ban him for the celebration because the referee saw it and took the correct action as per the laws of the game ie showing him a yellow card for what I presume is unsporting behaviour. They can't go giving him a retrospective red for that particular incident because the laws of the game state unsporting behaviour is a cautionable offence, not a dismissal one.
I imagine he'll get another three matches for the stamp, which is quite obviously deliberate, though I stand by my earlier assertion that he was actually aiming for van Persie's hand rather than the Dutchman's perennially bewildered little face.
US: if you think a couple of dozen fat, pissed Londoners bundling towards the front of a stand to throw a couple of hotdogs, programmes and ten pence pieces in the direction of the pitch constitutes a "riot", then you must have led a very sheltered existence. He wound them up, they bit, but then the stewards calmed it down.
You should change your username to Disgusted of (Wherever).

It had the potential to start a full scale riot. The danger is if he gets away with it it sets a precedent that a player can do whatever he wants when he scores. Will we see this celebration every week ?. Its utter madness.
