I just am not sure the football will be all that exciting.

My memory of Adams was of a pragmatist, who built his sides from the back, but certainly his first full season the football was not that great. More often than not 5 at the back and early balls forward.

The second season we did play good stuff, but then the squad by then was just better than anything else in that league and with Zamora up front we were always going to score goals.

However since he has left us, his sides have been fairly dour and journeyman like.

That's how i saw Mickeys sides after all he was a defender.

It is good news if the figures haven't been massaged somewhat.

But i for one still think Knight or the board were out of order in how they handled Wilkins and he will have too do alot more than this to get back in favour with me.

How do you work that out. 'Insider' said there were 3,069 STH's last season, and our average attendance was 5,900 ish, ie an average of 2,800 people paying each week (some of which are obviously away fans). This season we'll have at least 1,000 more STH's, at least the same amount of individual game fans (I mean replacing Wilkins with Adams is hardly going to put people OFF), and a continued decent number in the family stand. I reckon average attendance will be nearer 7,000, and rarely will it be below 6,000.

I would think a lot of individual game fans will have turned into season ticket holders, that was my point. Granted, if we're playing well then I expect people will continue to pay game by game, but if it's a repeat of last season I can't see that happening.

There's still a while before the season starts, would expect quite a few more (myself included) to sign up.

I doubt your estimations are far wrong to be honest - of an average crowd, i'd guess 4500-5000 season ticket holders, 600 away fans, 1000 kids, but not too many more.

Then again, i've no idea what the average number of kids/individual goers at the moment is, so i'm probably far out!

I'm not one of them. I was interested in a student season ticket and PM'd Insider with a question, but did not even get a reply. Cannot afford one now.

But if Chairman Knights changing of manager results in us finishing below where we did last season, than you can knock Chairman Knight for his actions, as it will have taken us backwards, you spoon.

But we are talking "now" not what "may" happen in a years time, surely?

Equally, we could argue if we finish 4th then he made a cracking decision?

You are obviously a "half empty" kind of guy.

So if we finish 10th, reach the sixth round of the fa cup beating a premier club and not putting in an abysmal Mansfieldesque performance and win the Johnstone Paint Trophy at Wembley, Uncle Buck will still be asking for the head of Uncle Dick. You're a hard man to please.

Fair comment.

But there were some very negative home performances last season.
Micky won't bring in the quality loan players that we had last season but he has done well to convince players like Livermore to sign.

We all agree that the way Wilkins was sacked was wrong, but we have had to move on! Are you saying you don't want to give Mickey your backing because of Wilkins saking?

I am hoping if he can get the best out of Elphick, Cox, Murray and Forster we could have a very good season. I think those 3 players would have walked into Adams side those few seasons back.

I personally believe Adams is a better manager and tactician than Wilkins.

I am not saying i won't back Adams as i like Mickey and he is very good with players and the media not sure about him being a great tactician anyway my gripe is i thought Dick was an Albion fan like Wilkins and Dick or the board shafted Wilkins and i am afraid i am struggling to trust knight and wonder if he either lacked bottle in letting Wilkins carry on or he just got carried away on a power trip.

out of interest, why do you (amongst others) specifically exclude kids and family stand from 'sth's?

A very large percentage of the people in the FS are STHs.
