I don't want to start a new thread, but does anyone have any suggestions of some wizened old heads that we colud pick up this window?

(thinking the successful Lallana/Wellbeck double swoop)

with Millner's time likely up, my model shows we could take 1 or even 2 central midfielders.

I personally thought Jorginho might fit, if he wanted to stay in England, but any others?

Im sure we will sign some defender of some sort. Might not be until deadline day if were waiting for Boscagli to crash out of CL.

With Enciso, Fergie and maybe Adingra moving we could sign a new striker if JP is out for a long time. More likely we move Rutter up front more often.

I also think we could be looking at strikers (contrary to what some were suggesting) even before the possibility of Enciso moving - with Fergie very possibly going out on loan (to the Hammers?), Welbz injury prone and Adingra seemingly dropped off his previous level a bit …

We were interested in Kofane weren’t we? Seems a ‘typical’ type of target for us.

Some sources saying Real Madrid is trying to sign him

Some recycling stories we could still be involved

As of two days ago, yes - the lad only made his professional debut on the 11th!

Pedro is back in training, so should be fine. We will do what we always do in January, be very interested in a CB, Bozza will put something on here saying don't go to bed yet, and ultimately we'll dick about with the fee behind the scenes, and then at 11:42pm we'll get notification from the club that says: 'Midfielder Cam Peupion will be joining Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season. Good luck Cam! Brought to you by eToro 📲'

Surely you’re not dare suggesting we don’t really need another CB to get to the end of the season are you?

I tried that already and got pilloried for it :lolol:

This one looks legit and makes sense with Gomez coming into the squad to replace him tonight.

Great player for us but never really elite at being a defensive midfielder, assisting or scoring. I suspect the injury got in the way of his development and he might make a huge impact in Holland.

He obviously goes with everyone’s best wishes as Tony gets ready to fire up the Skoda and taps Rotterdam into the SatNav.

What are we thinking the price would be? £25m
£15m -£20m?
Think the quick turn of cash may be attractive to Chelsea but the bigger challenge would be convincing the player. Expect this would be based on being a first team regular here compared to bit part player when Chelsea buy Guehi which I expect they will, in the summer.
If not, then Boscagli. However, think the profile of player we are after has changed to one with speed which is why Tosin looks the better option.

Makes a lot of sense for all parties, as covered on his thread.

Chelsea got him on a free, so they get a very nice PSR/FFP boost should they sell him as there's no remaining transfer fee to knock off the sale proceeds. They've also just recalled Trevor Challobah with a view to integrating hm straight back into their Premier League squad.

For us, we get the experienced PL-proven centre-back we are crying out for. We know he can slot straight into our back line - no time waiting for him to settle into the country/city nor get his fitness back.

If Chelsea do fancy that PSR boost, this is one that could happen very quickly.
