Fichajes reporting that Spurs have apparently intensified efforts to sign Facu

They can't even get the manager right in that article 😂

Tottenham's interest in the 20-year-old is not new. Since the start of the season, rumours of a possible move to London have been persistent. Buonanotte, known for his agility on the dribble and his ability to unbalance in the final third of the pitch, represents an attractive option for Antonio Conte's side, who are looking to strengthen their squad in several key positions.

Fichajes just make stuff up.

I'll rarely (probably never) post anything from there.

In the last few years?

We’ve picked up Barco (seems to be on his way out), plus three players who've yet to touch the pitch for Brighton in Jan 24.

Ayari and Facundo in 23, Ayari who’s taken two loan spells and almost 2 years to establish himself, and Facundo who while is a very decent player, is currently sitting on Leicester’s Bench.

Kozolowksi and Undav in 22, another who failed to make a single first team appearance, and Undav who was loaned out straight away.

So ultimately in the last few years we’ve bought arguably one player who’s made a serious immediate impact on the first team.
Indeed.

Signing players in January is difficult, clubs need good money to explain to their fans why they've sold a good player. Its easier to justify it summer time. Signing a player who has done well in a top 5 league would be expensive so the options are generally down to people with contracts running out (like Lamptey), young players making their first foreign move (like Ayari and the Argentinians) or players that for whatever reason aren't desired by their clubs (a category of players we generally have avoided).

Its a difficult window for anyone looking to recruit. Just look at Manchester City who are now about to spend £70m on a player with 1.5 good Bundesliga seasons.

In the end I'm quite sure we'll sign a defender of some sort though. Most players we've been linked to are players in the categories I mentioned. Boscagli with a contract running out, Vitor Reis making his first foreign move and Michael Kayode not getting game time in Fiorentina due to competition with their Brazilian national team right back.

The players we sign in January almost all come from leagues where this is the off season (South America, MLS and Scandinavia) or are young prospects, or both.

Don't expect us to make a big money signing from a top European league this window. It's not good value for Bloom, even when we were after KDH last winter that was because PSR gave us a value opportunity.

I don’t vouch for any of the links I post on transfers, never have although I have my favourite transfer journalists that I think are more reliable than most ( anywhere) and most of the links we post about transfer rumours/gossip are either recycled rumours from unreliable sources or ‘made up‘ - until the Club actually releases information themselves.

Fichajes are not saying anything that hasn’t already been said suggested elsewhere so not really ‘making anything up’. It’s a non story based on assumptions in the same way much of the transfer rumour mill is!

A few sources linking Brighton to Sporting defender, Ousmane Diomande - would think it above a January spend for a player though, he won’t come cheap

If this is accurate and that’s their starting position no chance.

Yep

“A player who has a release clause of 80 million euros, 600 million kroner, which may well be activated with so many of the very big clubs chasing the 21-year-old Ivorian star. Sporting will not sell him for less.”

May have been posted elsewhere as this is an old target for us that previously collapsed - Brighton have apparently submitted a bid now for Derby defender Erin ( if you want to believe O’Rourke!) - (more for future development than an immediate walk in?)

Edit - just seen discussion posted earlier on the Cashin thread and a new thread started for an alleged target earlier so wondering if it is worth having a transfer thread at all tbh? - I don’t do social media personally and @Bozza is posting all his transfer links on other threads or starting separate ones so shall we knock the thread on the head? :timmy:

Every player gets their own thread, that's a given, but hardly hurts having this one as well. This board is a complete free for all, which is far more fun and organic than most fan sites which keep everything very regimented. One might start a thread, but once it's out there it belongs to the NSC hivemind. Just go with the flow :)

Do we think Diego Gomez will get a start on Saturday against Everton? Most likely not in view of Ayari and Baleba’s current form.

Ayari’s development has probably taken the club by surprise. Whilst no means the finished product, that spot next to Baleba is his to lose.

When (or should that be if?) everyone’s fit there’s a lot of options if we only play 2 out and out CMs (not including the CAM/CF as that is more Rutter/Pedro).

Baleba, Ayari, Wieffer, Gomez, O’Riley, Hinsh, Milner
