He has (reportedly) refused a contract extension
As per my post above.

We are not going to send him out on loan according to most sources unless he renews his contract ( which expires in 18 months) or we sell now and get a decent (c.£35m) fee for him.

With Gómez coming in, Enciso maybe thinking he’s even further down in the pecking order and he and his agent are pushing for a move - if we can get c.£35m. now and sell him - it’s a win win - no one wants to keep an unhappy player on the books - if he doesn’t renew/extend his contract, we are less likely to get that in the summer with only 12 mnths left on his contract.

Still waiting for Lamptey and Veltman to renew/extend their contracts too.

He’s the biggest star in his country and obviously backs himself. Maybe if we were a Liverpool he’d be happy to bide his time but totally get why he’s thinking there’s better opportunities else where. This will increasingly happen the more we collect young players in similar positions. They won’t al get the game time they want and they won’t all want to sign new contracts.

Does it really matter if other threads carry similar points/discussions? Or who “posted first” 🙄
You're the one who posted "As per my post above."

Posting first does seem to matter to someone around here.

Not on this thread. And it’s not a race or me or anyone else posting updates/rumours/news here claiming to be ITK either
Didn’t see the Encisco thread earlier work most of the day and don’t read all the other football threads so it’s hard to keep track of so many different updates/transfer discussions - the whole point of a transfer thread was so people like myself, can see updates all on one thread.
Please close the thread though or merge it with another one if you think a January transfer thread is pointless because updates are also being posted on individual threads - we can just leave for people to read other threads if they want to keep up with what’s happening in the window.
I think his point is that yours suggested it is important to post things first.

Edit.
Bozza beat me to it.

In reference to the rumoured outgoing loans of Enciso and Ferguson, I noted with interest thar Hürzeler did not completely rule them out, instead focusing on the players developing and getting minutes.

After Georginio’s fantastic No.9 performance in the cup, I’d suggest that he is ahead of Ferguson in the striker role. Ditto with Gruda being ahead of Enciso at No.10.

I think development loans could be on the cards for these two.

Obviously we take it with a pinch of salt but different sauces have claimed that we won’t simply loan either. Apparently we told West Ham pre Potter that any loan must include an obligation to buy and then the above re Enciso.
If there’s any truth in both that suggest that we don’t want to loan them. Either they leave or they stay and fight for their place.
It’s exactly what Pep said and did re Palmer so it’s not that unusual.
It’s cutthroat but I get it.

Might not be that straightforward for Enciso if he continues to turn down an extension/new contract.

Yes - ie an affirmation of what the poster said. Agreeing with his take on another poster’s comment.

Please read back some of your responses on this thread and see that it is you who has said you posted news first elsewhere when all I have done is simply posted some tweets - my response to you is ‘so what? 🙄

And with that I’ll bid you goodnight - I hope your Mum is doing better.

By the end of this week we will have had 3 games in 9 days all away , and possibly pick up a few more knocks . Given the last dozen games last season where our squad was decimated and we didn`t buy in January , are we really going to send out Enciso and Ferguson on loan ? .

I don`t think Enciso is being awkward , i believe the guy just want`s to play for us , and if he had a string of games he would start to show for us the same quality that Facu is at Leicester , who i didn`t want to be loaned out . If we have a similar run of injuries as last season we will need all hands on deck , both Danny and Joao have missed games through injury , Georgie is brilliant but he can`t do it all on his own so why not use Fergie ? . Is it just me or are our youngsters being used less this season ? , RDZ would have given Facu and Julio a bigger role this year .

If Enciso is a £35m player and Fergie is around the £55m mark , who else in this league loans out players of that quality in January ? , Gomez coming in is a welcome boost so we have the chance to rotate a few when the next string of 3 in 9 comes around , but not if we let others of their quality go .
