My blackpool supporting friend swore Dobbie would get us promoted single handed when we signed him. He was heart broken they didnt get him. No post rationalisation there. Some work out and some don't (cms anyone?)
The critical missing element seems to be recency. There is no weighting to reflect the changing nature of football since the war say and certainly since the mid 60's where football changed forever (TV, changing soci-demographics etc etc)
FNAR!
But I do agree with you and said as much in another thread. An attacking, proven Spanish flair master at left back to fill a Bridge shaped hole would be nice.
Did the oppo work out Leo a bit at the end of last season? If so, who do we have who can exploit any gaps defenders may be leaving whilst they are focusing on negating Leo? We need CMS back and we need him firing I think to give us some variation (or Hoskins.....but I suspect we'll never see him...
Other teams have spent money and the teams that came down could be strong. Last year was a very weak league (see the final points totals and closeness of the teams).
We have a chance but I think it will swing on who/if we sign a couple more players. Bridge is a very big loss I believe. So as...
Great news if he does come back. After a slow start was player of the season for me. Influential, skillful, smart and bloody reliable from set pieces now. And I understand he loves it here - so relatively risk free acquisition.
Those who didn't hit "yes" - consider this. If he had gone to...
Saafend and Somerset - would you rather know that something is happening or know nothing at all and allow NSC to go into meltdown because Brighton haven't signed anybody with a week to go before the season starts?
I'd rather know there are signings on the way (probably) than have an information...
EPL
Can we avoid using this for the coming season? Go on - you know you want to. And anyway, it's called The Premier League (or The Barclays Premier League). Never has been called English Premier League.
Had my three month weigh in today directly after a week on cricket tour with all limits removed (five days of cricket teas, beer, chips, cooked brekkie etc). Weight still down on last month (muscle up a tad and fat % down a notch) but less impressive than it has been. Back in the straps now and...
Feels like it should have been some qual work rather than quant. Very few people have a simple and identical journey to the stadium each time I suspect.
Nothing wrong with Survey Monkey btw - I use it a lot - but it does allow anyone to set up a survey, and as we have seen, there's a bit of an...
"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel. In the second act of the musical, Nettie Fowler, the cousin of the female protagonist Julie Jordan, sings "You'll Never Walk Alone" to comfort and encourage Julie when her husband, Billy Bigelow, the...
