It's interesting that ever since Dyche mentioned set pieces, we can't stop scoring from them. Two at Birmingham, one at Forest and then two last night. It sounds like Fulham concede a lot from set pieces and you can see why last night. The marking of Bruno for his goal was awful. He had time to...
That was pretty much how I saw it. He was getting a lot of criticism from fans around me in the first half hour but after winning the penalty I thought he was superb. Great run and pass for Hemed's chance.
I never understood this. I think he works very hard and offers a lot more than people give him credit for e.g. clearing a couple of Fulham set pieces. Up front he puts himself about holds the ball up well. I think you're being very harsh on him, even now he's scoring.
Depends how you look at it. During our bad run obviously I was frustrated but there were reasons. We had a very bad injury list and we only ever dropped out of the top six for two hours before the Blackburn game and that was a lot better than I thought we would be pre season.
I think we'll have...
Stockdale 8 - Would have been more but he had very little to do. Brilliant save in second half.
Bruno 8.5 - As good as always this season and got a goal.
Dunk 9 - Kept a high scoring strike pair very quiet.
Goldson 9 - Kept a high scoring strike pair very quiet.
Rosenior 8.5 - Very good again...
It's been an amazing season. There are others too. March was on superb form before his injury. Bong and Rosenior were both great before injuries and Rosenior has been brilliant since coming back. Dunk, despite a poor run mid season, has been brilliant with Goldson since mid January.
But that is the point. There's provoking discussion and absolutely slating a player who, even then, was our top scorer. This was quite clearly the latter. I don't understand how people can't see the difference.
Completely. Ironically, Hemed could even be that 20+ goal striker although he'd have to have a great finish to the season. We've not had a 20 goal striker since we've been back in the Championship
and they tend to cost a lot of money e.g. Hernandez, Gray and McCormack (the only players who have...
Agree that he has done a terrific job. In my opinion, Stockdale, Bruno and Kayal are top three but Hemed would be fourth or fifth. For all the moans, 16 goals in his first season in English football is a great return. And he cost £1 million, so significantly less than the three above him...
Disagree completely. The underlying nastiness is this thread. Hemed had a great start and went on a poor run but never deserved the abuse he got on here. NSC needs debate but I've always felt that the threads absolutely slating a specific player is one of the bad things about it. Sensible...
I'm not disagreeing with you on LuaLua generally, I just think you are being harsh in this situation. Except for an amazing start to this season, he has largely flattered to deceive in the Championship with a couple of good games followed by a few quieter ones.
However, in regard to him going...
Absolutely. Still think it was just outside but it's still not clear after replays so it must be impossible for a referee/linesman. Hard to feel too much sympathy for the defender as LuaLua was breaking into the box and, if he got past the defender, would have had a good chance to cross/shoot.
I've now seen who is the writer. Our resident Baldock hater so I would ignore completely. A good writer would try to have a balanced view rather than letting their own prejudices show but sadly it has not happened in this case.
I think you're being very harsh on LuaLua. I'm not his biggest fan but, at that point, he was in the best form he's ever been for us. As said above, the defender totally cleaned him out and there's no way he could have played for that
Agree completely. Comments on Murphy and Baldock are a joke in that article. Simple fact is Wilson hasn't played well enough to start regularly except for his first month.
I find it very odd, considering Manu and Baldock cost the same from what I've seen, that you are so critical of Baldock and say Manu will be so easy to loan out. Whatever you say about Baldock and his goals, he has played a key part in our season (read Hughton's comments in the Argus today to...
If Baldock is fit to start, I'd be tempted to start him as him and Hemed work well as a pairing. I'm sure Knockaert will start after his impact on Monday and he usually starts at home. LuaLua drops to the bench along with one of Skalak and Murphy (really undecided on them as Murphy offers much...
Serie A would be interesting as we've not really had players come over from Italy before. A number of our overseas players have been playing in Spain (and a few from Holland recently) so if these reports are true it would suggest we're widening/changing our focus.
Sky were mentioning that before the Forest game, effectively saying we're the ones without any pressure as expectation was lower at the start of the season. I can see their point. I certainly would have taken a top half finish this season after what happened last year. However, I do wonder...
I'd be amazed if there's any truth in the second one. We will be watching players but I'd be very surprised if we put offers in until it is confirmed what division we'll be in next season (or that they accepted any offers). More likely that we've been watching these players and it's a better...
