We just know that if we win the next 5 fixtures, we are garanteed top 2 and promotion.

This point was lost on at least one Burnley fan I noted when scanning their forum quickly earlier, who stated our fate was not in our own hands.

Their fate is in their own hands but so is ours. They've clearly not done the math in terms of the impact of the Burnley v Boro result, nor our visit to The Riverside.

I'm feeling like it's a bridge too far.

I like Burnley, small town with a decent football tradition. But don't like your manager, or the style (totally inappropriate word) of football (again, not sure that's the right word) he's got you lot playing.

Naturally I'm not a fan of Barton either, he should have been sent off for the deliberate stamp on Kayal. Comparing him with Roy Keane is a joke.

Since you ask, I'm feeling very tired today and a little melancholy. I'm starting to wonder if I should look for a career change. Maybe it's just my age. I've decided I'm going to take the family on a bloody good holiday this summer and then I'll see how I feel. Have you tried Valerian extract for your nerves?

It's going to a be a very bitter pill to swallow for who finishes 3rd, whichever team that is will likely be a long way ahead of 4th and will have to pick themselves up to go again in the playoffs.

I really hope that won't be us.

I think Burnley have been the least convincing of the 3 in recent weeks, but with Gray in the team there is always the chance of goals and that might be enough.

Got to give you lot credit for beating Forest and staying the pace towards the end of the season.

It's fantastic for everyone to be involved in a three way shootout. Still plenty to play for.

We are hoping that our players stick to the "one game at a time" mentality and we have experience with Barton and a few others including Barnes who have had previous promotion experience.

As I think you'll beat Fulham there will be enormous pressure on us at Birmingham. Still, long way to go.

I'm feeling that Barton should have been banned for at least 3 matches. Dirty thug.

The fate for the club finishing third is highly likely to be facing her very boring Shefield Wednesday over two legs. And we have never won at Hillsborough. Something I thought we ought to do before leaving the Championship. So I hope Burnley beat Wednesday.

The overall factor is that we have only to be 2 pts behind Boro to take it to the final match of the 46, but we would have to be one point ahead of Burnley to have it in our own hands.

Things will be clearer after the 19th.

Well we didn't have any expectations beyond a top half finish really...so this is a welcome but unexpected bonus.

I did think that Wolves and Derby would be up there... but it goes to prove that team ethic and spirit can carry you a long way.

Please, for the love of God, no. I couldn't handle that scenario.

My own view is that it all rides on your game next Tuesday. If you can beat Middlesborough next Tuesday then I think you will go up with us. If you lose then I think we will pip you. The fixtures work better for us with you having a crucial game much earlier. There has to be a fair chance that Boro are promoted by the time we play them. At this stage of the season it is all about playing teams that don't give a shit.

Sadly Birmingham fall into that category now as their performance against Leeds last night proved. I think you'll beat them, but can't see you getting better than a draw with Boro. If we do our job properly you should be playing catching up after next Tuesday.

How do I feel?

Couldn't give a toss about Barton now, it's history.

Loving every second of every day in relation to all things Albion, with the exception of when Sky Sports News went across to The Riverside for the 94th minute update last night.

It's exciting, and I'd urge everyone to immerse themselves in the forthcoming dramas, days like these don't arise too often, so make the most of them.

If we win our 5 games, there is not a single combination of all other results that stops us finishing in the top 2. It is that simple.

So we focus on a win v Fulham, and then we need 4 wins.

If at some point we no longer need to win all remaining games, then Happy Days, but that is not the case at present.

If Burnley beat Wednesday and Wednesday lose to Cardiff, the Welsh may grab 6th place.......
Not our problem though, Burnley's.

This is a fairly accurate reflection of how I feel. Excitement. It is likely to go to the last game and I will enjoy every up and hate every down over each and every game. I hope we are top 2 come the end of Boro but even if we are 3rd the excitement will continue at least for a couple more games. Whatever happens when we look back and assess it, it's been an incredible season

Sky were mentioning that before the Forest game, effectively saying we're the ones without any pressure as expectation was lower at the start of the season. I can see their point. I certainly would have taken a top half finish this season after what happened last year. However, I do wonder whether the start we had might have changed that feeling among a lot of fans and there will certainly be disappointment from many on here if we don't make top two (especially if we don't win the Play Offs).

I agree re Derby. Wolves losing Sako was a big blow so they were always a bit less definite. I've been surprised by how far Hull have dropped off the pace too, given the strength of their squad and experience of Bruce.

My expectation is that we will end up in the playoffs, losing to Sheff Wed in the semis. Anything above that is a bonus. I like the Championship so won't feel heartbroken if that happens.
My hopes are somewhat different.
