I would suggest that four points from these two games are absolutely essential, considering we are playing ( and almost certainly, losing to...) Man City, Tottenham and Liverpool, in our next five games. Even four points from these games will see a worsening of our position......
Now....P17 Pts...
Thats fine if owners/chairmen choose to ignore the most important element of their business....the paying fans. TB will not be unaware of the disquiet about GP and results, from significant sections of the support base. He will keep judging the mood until he decides its too ugly to continue with...
I agree with that but the man is an enigma.....apparently going through a terrible run of form....off his game...lacking confidence....and yet has scored 6 PL goals this season. Only 12 players have scored more and he is level with Mane, Watkins and Abraham and ahead of....Werner, Adams...
That is very harsh on Welbeck.
The man is a class apart from the others. Runs well into space, can pull defenders out of position and wouldn't have played over 40 times for England if he was bang average. He needs a direct, confident striker alongside him, to complement a partnership. An in form...
I think we were looking for positive contributions from key fringe players like Ali J....Mac...Zeqiri....and a first real look at Percy T. None were particularly convincing and those players, seemingly lacking confidence, i.e Maupay and Trossard, have clearly not regained it. All this still...
Maybe guilty of overplaying a little bit too much. Often the hoof is the best option. Last night was a case in point. One up, with barely any time left, we still had players trying flicks and back heels and short passes around our own area. Hughton always had Murray as his ' foul winner ' A past...
Trossard's penalty summed up one of the truly worst cameo performances I have ever seen. I thought he was doing it for a bet. Virtually every single pass straight to an opposition player. Didn't matter whether it was three yards, nine yards, eighteen yards. Poor touch. losing control, robbed of...
Oh whoopee.....the man is not a decisive spot kick taker. He is clearly unsure what to do every kick he takes. I honestly believe he changes his mind in the run-up. One kick he dinks it. Then he smashes it down the middle. Then he tries to place it, giving every indication to the keeper where...
Rubbish.
He played a strong team at Newport because HE was desperate for a win, any win. You could see it in his body language. He was on edge, tight, racked with tension all game. He couldn't watch at times. He is feeling the pressure that managing an underperforming squad brings. He still...
