I've always rated Baldock for the way he opens up defences with his runs. He offers something we don't have elsewhere. However, there's always been a concern about his goalscoring. He seems to have sorted that out this season. Five league goals at this stage of the season when he's not started...
He hadn't played at all for Stoke the first half of last season so wouldn't have been fully match fit when he arrived in my view. Seemed to improve as we went along but, as others have said, was never going to break in ahead of Stephens and Kayal.
I can't believe how he's fitted in this season...
Agree re your comment about last year. Everything that happened in the last couple of weeks of the season with us just missing out on auto promotion while Wednesday were able to field a back up side for their last game combined with our injury issues means it is very hard to call it bottling...
I find it very odd but it is probably a good thing. It is weird that we don't get mentioned when three of the four teams you say they mentioned (plus Villa) are well behind us at this stage. However, the less we are talked about, you could argue the better for us.
What you can be sure about is...
Completely agree with this. I really don't understand the attitude of some on here towards Stockdale. For me, he's an excellent Championship keeper and is part of the best defence in the league yet every time we concede a goal some on here seem to want to criticise him. It makes no sense.
There...
The comparison is interesting. I would say that what you are talking about are major errors. He would still make mistakes. I'm sure he conceded goals like the one on Friday but nobody remembers those three years (especially if they want to criticise anyone else). To me, the only goal that...
I wouldn't want to even think about Steven Gerrard for the reasons you mention namely his experience and what would come with his appointment. I think the club are quite happy to be out of the media spotlight, except for regular visits from Sky. Gerrard would make this almost impossible...
Does that mean you've seen 6 or more Championship keepers regularly this season? Or are you just judging on one game
This myth that he's done nothing this season is rubbish. He made a couple of very good early saves at Derby to keep it 0-0, at Sheffield Wednesday he made a couple of important...
Agreed and I think this may be the reason we'll end up with a loan striker, or maybe two. It will be hard to attract the quality striker we need as we'll have more competition. If we go up, that will change. So, I think we need another loanee (or even two if you want to be certain) similar to...
It is embarrassing the anti Stockdale agenda that you, and a few others, seem to have. Seemingly he has no part in keeping clean sheets but is to blame for all our goals conceded this year. It is pathetic.
My views have nothing to do with him being on Twitter, more that he is a very good...
To be fair, Villa should be able to boss games. We didn't rob them. They hit the bar once but not a lot else. They couldn't finish despite their expensive strike force. Their team cost so much more than us but to say we were generally poor is harsh
I'm bored of going through this. Every time we concede a goal it is blame Stockdale. The Newcastle and last night are both very harsh, Reading he was at fault but it took a deflection in front of him and Preston was a ridiculous back pass from Bruno. It is almost like people are waiting for us...
I thought we started both halves okay. In the first half, their goal knocked us back, very similar to what our goal did to Bristol City two weeks ago but crucially we didn't concede the second. In the second half, the substitutions changed it for them. We have a decent bench but can't compete...
As usual when we concede a goal, Stockdale must be blamed by some on here. You could argue he could have done better, although I think he was a bit unlucky personally. He then started the move for our goal with a very important interception at the feet of one of their players when the defence...
Exactly. All about opinions. If I read a paper, it is the Guardian. I genuinely think it is the most balanced but realise many others have different views on it.
I agree all the papers showed their bias with the story but, for me, the Mail, Sun and Express had horrible articles, from memory one...
I get your point but, as I despise the Mail and pretty much everything it stands for, I might not be able to give a balanced response. Out of interest, did you hear about their article about the judges who made the decision on Brexit recently. To me that was a classic example of why I hate the...
As compared to you, who clearly are open to all views except those that are different to yours. A democracy means free speech. The papers can print whatever they want, assuming it is within the law, but people have the right to protest. If there wasn't a lot of truth in the campaign, nothing...
