Redgrave - GB's Greatest Olympian
Failing that - Daley Thompson who would rate himself as not only GB's greatest Olympian but the Worlds greatest Olympian
Course looks a bit lumpy for a guarateed bunch sprint but it should come down to that
If Cav doesn't win today, expect some tense tweets as his anxiety levels will rocket through the roof. If he does win then yep, maybe the big 'f***k you' to the UCI via a 140 character tweet.
I'm booked in for a visit next week - I make sh't tea but alright coffee
Mine has randomly defrosted before in the past - a couple of times meaning I've had to throw a load of stuff away. Do you reckon this is one of those 'at risk' ones?
Farrar won the sprint but it was only for 6th
The final km is quite flat and although the bottom is steep, the approach is really quick so perhaps it'll be a Gilbert type after all as opposed to a out-and-out climber. Gilberts record this year is amazing in terms of races ridden / races won.
Crikey, with the favourites nabbed - I'm going to go for Contador. I think he'll decide he's lost enough time and will make an effort on the climb. If he gets away (I've heard different things about actually how hard the mur is) his time gain may only be small but it'll put a good marker down...
I asked a Posh fan on another forum what he thought of CMS. Here's what he reckoned:
"I want to have his babies.
He's amazing, just runs non-stop all day like a mental on acid, never gives up and is a busy little ****. I'm a better finisher than him though, if he could shoot properly he'd have...
Both now disqualified from that intermediate sprint. Rubbish decision - nothing more than a lean from Hushovd and Cav defended his space. Move along, nothing to see here..
"Knight insisted that he had no point to prove at Swindon."
That just about sums up the problem with Leon Knight.
Anyone remember that interview he gave to the Argus where he said he used to ring up Jermaine Defoe to remind him that he (knight) was the better player? I bet he still does that...
Cavendish if he's on form but I think Farrar might be good enough.
Doesn't look like cross-winds will cause any complications - should be a routine sprinters days
It's the colour! Nice frame though. Post more pictures as you progress the build
You're doing better than me though - I've got a frame to build up from scratch but I might get get the bits over the next few months and pay a cycle shop to put it together. I'm rubbish at anything other than the...
Ha! It's worth keeping an open mind about these things. Internet chit-chat but nonetheless, some eye opening stuff by people well placed to comment.
Anyway, I really think its a much cleaner peloton today than even in the recent past and I think we're in for a reat 3 weeks.
Contador being...
Boardman was a top whinger in his time - always had an excuse up his sleeve for why his form wasn't 100%. I used to get fed up of hearing him drone on about it. Basically a very good British Time Trialler who was found out as soon as the road went uphill
I like it
Ball-ache sometimes with the traffic but the seafront is only a 10min run away and the Downs are right on your doorstep. There are some parts which are a bit 'tasty' but otherwise its alright
Do kids still play Wembley I wonder?
I used to like a bit of brinksmanship with it. If you scored too early, you'd spend a load of time sat on your backside behind the goal
Did anyone used to play 'German' Headers & Volleys? I can't even remember what the variation was but it would always be...
