I was really looking forward to today's game. Nice sunny day, the retro shirt thing and an encoraging performance last week at Northampton.
That didn't last long. I was disappointed when the team was announced. No Hammond (although I think it the right thing to do to get his op), Butters, Cox...
Flinders - 8 - Easily the Albion player that had the most positive effect on the final score.
Rehman - 6 - Looks as though he could be useful, but as Dick Knight said we probably can't afford him.
Elphick - 5 - Not helped by the rest of the team being poor.
Lynch - 6 - A lot of responsibility...
Todays performance was abysmal, but it involved 14 players and a coaching team, how it is all Kerry Mayo's fault is beyond me.
If you find the need to blame any ONE person I would suggest it would be Dean Wilkins. The starting 11 was certainly not the strongest available and the substitutions...
If you are looking for cheap buffet style Chinese try Buffet Island opposite St Peter's church in Brighton or Cosmo in Eastbourne. Lunchtime eat as much as you want for about six quid. Good value but not a la carte.
Norman Baker is my MP and whilst I think he's a twat, I'm afraid enough people in the Lewes area think he is wonderful, to ensure he remains an MP for as long as he wants to.
Unfortunately if you polled his constituents re Falmer, I'm pretty sure the majority would be against it.
Donny had 20,000 at the Millennium Stadium last weekend and their average home gate is about 7,000. Bristol Rovers had pushing 40,000 there and get crowds of around 5,000. I think the shirt manufacturers had a good week.
I think we desperately need a proven goalscorer. I'm still not convinced by Savage but he continues to surprise me and I hope he rams my doubts right back at me.
As for the others :
Revell 6 league goals in 33 games
Robinson also 6 in 33
Gatting 4 in 22
Hardly prolific any of them.
Hammond...
Having been to the Millennium Stadium last weekend I can guarantee you will win lots of friends in the Donny Rovers end if you play Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs. Not sure a few hundred at Withdean will sound the same as 20,000 at Cardiff singing Donny Donny Donny but still good fun.
Check out this...
Did I read somewhere that the Albion are wearing the same kit on Saturday as they wore against Doncaster at the Goldstone. Is this right? Has anyone seen the kit? Are Donny joining in by wearing a retro kit?
Went to the game with a mate who is Donny born and bred. Good experience for my 10 year old, as it is the last English final to be played there. It was a good game and the atmosphere in Cardiff before and after the game was excellent. Reminded me of our day out there three years ago.
It will be...
I'm worried about next season because there seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes that us the fans obviously don't know the truth about.
What's happening with the goalkeeper? Flinders is only short term but the fact he is playing, does that mean Kuipers is on his way. If so who is the...
