BUT....we played at Hudders earlier on the season when Wilkins was in charge and won 3-0

one could argue that he has supposedly got better players in, but we have gone backwards!

Just a thought

Or perhaps Huddersfield play a different game away from home& just possibly with only 4 players in the side on saturday that played in the first game they may have moved on a bit more than us.
They came to do a job & it takes a bit of guile to break a side like that down, next season with the inevitable ins & outs plus that bit more experience we might possibly have the nous to do so.

I'm worried about next season because there seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes that us the fans obviously don't know the truth about.

What's happening with the goalkeeper? Flinders is only short term but the fact he is playing, does that mean Kuipers is on his way. If so who is the goalkeeper next season - Sullivan? I don't think so.

What's going on with Hart and Frutos. The fact they are not playing is obviously nothing to do with their ability. Whilst not world beaters they have as much to offer as Cox and Robinson (in current form) and Gatting, Loft and Elder. So we can only assume they'll be gone next year too.

Hammond needs his op, so with 7 games to go and safety pretty much assured stick Mayo on the left of midfield, he'll do a job. But is he on his way as well. Get Hammond sorted we need him fit and raring to go for the start of the season.

Bertin? Nothing more certain than the fact he won't be with us next season. Can only assume the club are offering him terms that he is not interested in accepting.

Has Butters got another season left in him? A decent offer and Lynch will be asking to be let go ala Harding and Virgo and if the offer is right we will let him move on.

So with Rehman, O'Gooner and Ward going back to their clubs in all probabilty and a strikeforce of Savage, Revell, Gatting and Elder (perm any two from four) I cannot see it getting much better next season.

I'm sorry to be so negative but I think we are more than 3 or 4 players away from a top 6 finish. The only players to have performed consistantly this season have been Butters, Lynch, El Abd and Hammond plus Bertin since he arrived.

*sigh*

Until we get the stadium, we are a mid-table divison 1 team at best!

We are not Real Madrid, we are not in the same financial league for transfers as Manchester United!

We are Brighton, Super brighton from the south, the team with no ground and until we do get one, no money!

Same next year at best!

On the flip side we drew against crewe and blackpool recently where earlier in the season we lost, so are we improving?

The money we bid for strikers in January gives me hope that we'll get someone in the summer and that may give the whole club a big morale boost.

Paul Reid and Adam Hinshelwood, hopefully back fit, will be a big plus. We had a great run of form with Hinsh in the side.

Some interesting thoughts - would personally like to see Hart on the bench - why have Elder AND Gatting there?

Is Frutos really not as good as Loft. Don't think so! - there's more to that one - although Wendy made it clear in his interview that Loft has been doing what he's told to - infering that Frutos hasn't.

Kuipers - big earner - pressure on Wilkins to let go? - personally I don't think so.

IMO we really only need a 20 goal a season man and we'll be around the play-offs. And Savage ain't that man.
