You don't like discussion much, do you? If someone doesn't agree with your point of view they bore you or they are cretins (see the other thread)

Not everyone is going to agree and that is what message boards are about.

There's not much to discuss if people are just going to slag Wilkins off instead of backing him.Like i've said a thousand times.Just wait untill the summer when Wilkins has the chance to have a good clearout and bring in new blood.

But they will whilst we have tedious boring games like yesterday - were you pleased with that pathetic performance ?

I've read the whole thread again and I cannot see one post slagging off Wilkins.
I doubt Wilkins will be bringing in any new blood. They've already decided to keep 5 of the 2nd year youth team.

No it was rubbish. What are you expecting from Wilkins with no money and a poor squad to work with?

If you read it again then you will know the people who can't wait to knock him. It's the same suspects week in week out who have never backed Wilkins in the first place.

I think our lack of experience has really begun to show in the last month or so...which makes it especially frustrating that Wilkins hasn't made wider use of the squad, specifically Hart and Frutos, who are more than capable of mixing it at this level. Hopefully Paul Reid will be back for the start of next season - he could add some competition on the right or in the middle

Sounds very like last season with McGhee. With any manager you get people who like him and don't like him.
I was prepared to give Wilkins every chance especially when I had travelled to watch the youth team at Blackburn and Newcastle. He did a great job with them. He isn't reproducing that same achievement or anywhere near it with the first team.

Reid will be back before the end of this season, then El Abd can move back to midfield.

And then we'll really go places as an attacking force in League 1.

Reid is a Midfield player.

El Abd is not.

Without a 20 goal + striker we won'tgo up

Reid must be in midfield when he returns and not some stupid experiment with players being played out of position.

We have needed a proven striker for 3 years now, none of the current crop are good enough to be a 20 goal a season striker needed for a promotion push. 1st MM got the blame now it's DW's turn. Expect a McGhee like booing from the stands 6 games into next season. Bertin will be gone and nobody of note will be coming in.

Get real guys we are going to do well to stay in this division as long as the funds are diverted from the playing front, so it could be a long wait for a return to the sustained promotion push days.

If we can get a goalscorer than yes, we have drawn our last 4 and if we had someone that can put the ball in the back of the next i'm sure our point return would be alot higher

A proven goalscorer would make a hell of a difference.

You just have to look at the amount of games we've drawn or lost by the odd goal, with a proven goalscoer a lot of those losses would have been draws and a lot of those draws would have been wins.

What a difference a week makes, last week we battered Scunthorpe the team at the top of the league, that was according to both managers and many people who watched the game. We were unlucky only to get one point, yesterday we grind out a 0-0 draw with another team languishing (haven't used that word for years) in mid-table and everyone thinks that it is the end of the World.

I have followed Albion for over 30 years now and can't remember a season where so many people were hoping for mid-table mediocrity instead of our constant flirts with relegation or a return to a Championship for which we are patently not ready. We are well on our way to a mid-table finish, we should go into the last couple of games safe in the knowledge that our place in this division is secure for next season.

Yes we will all be looking forward to next season, but I just think that for the first time in a long time there is more to be cheerful about, there is more good about the club than bad. Sometimes I just don't know what some people expect.

Next season Hinsh should be back and so Him, Lynch and Butters is more than enough for centre back (providing hinsh can stay fit), Midfield of Reid, Hammond, Cox and Bertin will hopefully still be here will do damage to this league and we have Savage, Revell, Robinson and Gatting put a true goal scorer in there and that will be more than enough. Granted will not be the strongest squad but bar a injury crisis will have El-Abd, Fraser, Mayo to cover injuries

Stick by that if we get good full backs in and keeper competition we have a bloody good chance of top 6
