It is an interesting one that as it is completely down to someone's opinion. Hit the woodwork, yellow cards etc are quite clear but who decides what constitutes a 'big miss'?
Agreed. And so brave in that situation. If the West Ham player takes the ball off him, we could have been in real trouble. Instead, after his first touch wasn't great, he completely beats the West Ham player and starts the move for the goal. Propper is starting to look a great player for us and...
Interestingly, we have fourth least yellow cards in the league too. Could be important later in the season when bans for 5/10 yellow cards become more regular!
It is definitely not the weakness you think it is. The number of times he has carried the ball from his own half this season and played a pass to one of our players is significantly more than he has lost it due to poor control.
That was against Derby at the end of the season before last.
Your comments seem to be that you can say what you like and will blame your memory for not being able to back it up. The facts are Dunk is a massively different player to a year or two ago (or even six months ago)
I thought the exact opposite on Friday. They all seemed delighted for him when he scored (including Ryan running most of the length of the pitch to congratulate him) and at the end when they all seemed really pleased for him. Made me think that, despite it not quite going for him so far, he must...
Not sure how anyone can think we parked the bus against Everton. We were only ahead for eight minutes during which we forced a very good save off their keeper. And their goal came from a free kick after we had pushed too many players forward from a corner. How that equates to parking the bus is...
Overall, I am very happy. I was a bit worried after the Leicester game, where we were very poor but since then we've been pretty good.
Deserved more Watford and Bournemouth games but could easily have drawn (or even lost) against Newcastle so think we are about right with points currently.
To...
Completely agree. There was a lot of talk about the players needing to step up this season but there was an element that the fans also needed to. Goals and wins would be less regular than the last couple of seasons but we have to get behind the team at all times. And so far this has happened all...
Agreed. You can see why he created the most chances in the Bundesliga last season. Brilliant right foot he has and, as you say, at £3 million he is an absolute bargain
Ryan 9 - Very good for 90 minutes but amazing in injury time. That double save was incredible and so vital (it was gutting to draw, it would have felt so much worse to lose from 1-0 up late on)
Bruno 6 - Good work for our goal but silly for theirs. Almost cost us before their goal when he lost...
No way were we dirty. Generally, if anything I think we've been too nice and not physical enough (see number of bookings before yesterday).
Everton were pretty cynical. The number of times they went down easily and got a free kick was ridiculous. One player slipped in the first half (with...
Alternatively, if Joselu had scored that sitter at 0-0 in the Newcastle game, we may well have lost that and be three points worse off. There are always games you could have got something more from but football fans tend to ignore the opposite.
Genuinely can't believe the number of people saying they would prefer Bong on this thread. Suttner has proven in the last couple of games that he is comfortably the better player. The number of times he released March down the wing yesterday was impressive and he was very solid defensively
How many players do there need to be who struggle for a couple of games and then do well before nobody judges players for 10 games at least. This thread was started at half time in his second league game. Completely embarrassing for the OP. Suttner and Propper were both written off by some too...
It is funny, I thought he generally did yesterday, much more than he did against Newcastle. In that game, he left Bruno isolated a few times, which I think may have been part of the reason he was dropped for Arsenal. However, I thought he was better yesterday
I agree we left ourselves exposed yesterday but to suggest Hughton 'got away with this sort of naivety in the Championship' is bizarre. In fact he was regularly criticised by some on here for sitting back too much on a lead and making defensive subs (occasionally leading to us conceding too)...
