    [Albion] Knockaert completes Fulham move

What a player he was for us. Can't believe we signed him for only £2 million. Must be one of the best value signings in our history. He was incredible for a year and a half in the Championship and thoroughly deserved to be Championship player of the year in our promotion season. Didn't have...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

I would agree with you it is hard to sign players when newly promoted. Despite any history you might have as a club, you are often bottom of the list of options for players (as Leeds may well find this summer despite the assumptions of their fans). In terms of the six players, are you including...

[Albion] Was TB right to sack Chris Hughton?

It's not normally said about teams at the bottom though. That's usually reserved for the top teams. All I'm saying is there is probably less wrong with a team who are on top of games but can't take their chances compared to one who is very defensive and holding on most of the game. However, I...

[Albion] Was TB right to sack Chris Hughton?

I agree to a point. xG is a bit pointless. However, maybe what it does reflect is we were a bit fortunate to win some games last season (the three consecutive 1-0 wins in October stand out as games where we didn't deserve to win on balance of play especially against Wolves). On the other hand...

[Albion] Was TB right to sack Chris Hughton?

Agree re Locadia and Ali J. We will probably end up getting our money back when we sell Andone and, even if we don't, you could argue his winning goals against Huddersfield last season were worth the money we spent alone (as they helped to keep us up). I disagree with the rest. Webster is...

[Albion] Was TB right to sack Chris Hughton?

Webster had a bad spell around Christmas where he made a few mistakes. Either side of that, he has done well. And has looked very good since the Premier League restarted. Mooy was arguably our best player between October and January. He has lost his way a bit since then, as did a lot of...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

As has been pointed out a number of times here, you are wrong about transfer fees. We didn't spend £80 million this summer. And you underestimate how many players were brought in during Chris Hughton's time in charge. We brought in a lot of players across the first two seasons but he wasn't able...

[Football] Ben White - Sings new FOUR year deal.

The ambitious Premier League team who currently have Patrick Bamford as their main striker option. I think Leeds fans are going to be very surprised at the difficulty of signing players for next season. A lot of players would prefer to play for a team established in the Premier League for three...

    [Albion] Potter

This is exactly my thoughts. Given the younger players he's developed and brought into the team this season, it is going to be really exciting to see who we bring in this summer and how Potter develops the players who come into the squad and further develops those who have been here this season...

    [Albion] Tariq Lamptey

It is a very different situation now. We had just missed out on promotion again and Ulloa deserved his Premier League chance. We've not sold another player that we don't want to sell since that. Eventually we will inevitably get an offer we can't refuse or where a player really wants to leave...

[Albion] The Albion...... the summer building.

    Agreed. Those are priorities

[Albion] The Albion...... the summer building.

You talk about priorities but want to sell Ryan. I really don't get how those two go together. He is one of our best players. If we want to sign a keeper of Ryan's quality who was dominamt in the air too, it would cost us £20 million plus. Money that would be far better spent on attackers

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

We all know your agenda from previous posts so most of what you say can be ignored. However, I am going to question two of your points. Firstly, we didn't spend as much this summer as the previous two combined. We bought Izquierdo (who was a success until injury), Ryan, Propper, Locadia...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Totally agree. And this season has been a huge step forward in that. Assuming we stay up, we will have a progressive manager, some exciting young players and a manager/backroom team who can attract more young players like Lamptey. This is not to say we won't struggle next season, and a lot...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Are you sure about that goals for stat. We only scored 34 goals in total in first Premier League season. Even taken over 33 games, that is only an average of 1

Fair enough. It just seems odd to criticise transfer approach if you think that Hughton/Potter have no involvement. As you say, let's hope for more improvement next season.

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Don't think you will find many Albion fans sharing your view. I (and I imagine many others) wanted to stay up with a bit more comfort, see a clear change in style of play and start to use some of our younger players. The last two have been achieved and the first one is looking very likely. Very...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

I am pretty sure we were not the 10th biggest spenders in Europe last summer (just looked it up, we were 28th in Europe and 10th in Premier League last summer). I am sure I have seen that stat and it is based on net spend since we were promoted. You can hardly blame Potter for the previous two...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

It's not the opinion that is the issue. People are entitled to their opinion. It is the sanctimonious nature of the comments. How dare Brighton want to do anything other than survive. They are lucky to be here. And this after many of them had spent the season criticising our tactics. I am...

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Agree completely. And the irony was many of the pundits criticising the club for changing manager were the same ones having a go at our playing style for much of last season.
