    Bell Cheeses at work

Doubt he'd say, "I am still right," I expect it would be more, "I am delighted that my analysis viz-a-viz the attrition metric has been confirmed by 100% mis-alignment assessment action."

[Football] Banter - just an excuse for otherwise socially unacceptable behaviour

The problem with banter is that it is all very well when everyone is comfortable with it but, as we have seen on here and elsewhere, as soon as any one objects then they are told that they have no sense of humour or they should "man up and stop being a snowflake." A lot of banter is used...

No, it's like you protesting if someone said "I have never met a plumber who is not a thieving, incompetent ****".

    Bronze Memberships

As we all support the team the same it seems very strange that all the people who couldn't get to all the matches, particularly the away matches, for so many years suddenly can...any idea why so many circumstances have changed this season?

[Help] Non footy...any legal eagles? Advice please

Yes, but in this case the car is identifiable and so the registered keeper gets 6 points and a v large fine for failure to disclose whereas accepting the speeding fine results in 3 points and a smaller fine. Just saying nothing is a really bad idea.

[Football] any other "squad number pedants" out there?

And they all wore green jerseys unless they were internationals when they wore yellow. (and yes, I know that isn't 100% true)

[Help] Non footy...any legal eagles? Advice please

The registered keeper is required to know who is driving the car and when so, unless there is a really compelling reason not to know (eg stolen car), then the keeper is guilty of "failure to disclose" which is 6 points and a big fine. It doesn't matter if you are failing to disclose because you...

[Help] Non footy...any legal eagles? Advice please

This is very poor advice. It might have worked in OzMike's case as it was a hire vehicle and depending on when it was the law might have been different - the law has recently been tightened up to avoid this sort of thing. When you are the registered keeper you are responsible for knowing who...

How do you define an "extremist"? I'm sure that there were people on that march who might be described as extremists - should they have their privileges limited? Should they be removed (and to where)? It all sounds very easy but once you get down to the practicalities it is not so...

    Hope Powell Interview

Not really true...there were big crowds for women's football during and just after the First World War and whilst there were some 50,000+ crowds for a small number of women's matches the men's game was always more popular. It's a bit like saying that American Football is more popular in the UK...

    Shane Duffy

Actually, the view was that he should not come in the first place... Very easy to find posts that seem a bit silly with hindsight on the subject of Duffy but my own personal favourite was BensGrandad saying that we should be looking at Jonathan Woodgate instead...

Argument by meme, how sophisticated! I think you'll find that there is quite a level of training and testing before someone is allowed to legally drive a truck because it is recognised that a truck can be a dangerous thing when not used carefully. And of course there is also the fact that...

And the response in this country to an increase in acid attacks? Legislate to make the acid used in the attacks more difficult to get hold of and increase penalties for taking part in these attacks; concentrate police resources on catching the perpetrators of the attacks - not just say "well as...

    PPI

The first PPI policies were sold in the 60s. I had a credit card with PPI in the 80s and it was not uncommon. No where near as common as in the 90's but there were still lots of PPI policies (mis)sold in the 80s.

The ticket priority system is not quite fair

Imagine the points harvesting! Brighton U23 away games would have pretendances in the tens of thousands and all WSL home games would need to be played at the Amex just in case all the STHs who had paid their £50.00 for a 50 point season ticket actually turned up.:ascarf:
