They mean exactly the same thing when being used as adjectives, it's just that one is supposedly reserved for countable nouns and one for non-countable. Titanic's example uses fewer in place of the adverbial less which is why it seems (and is) grammatically incorrect.
You can always use less...
I know that it is nonsense - if it were so important, why isn't there an alternative to 'more' - but I can't help myself saying 'fewer' in my head. At least I'm not actually saying it aloud any more...

May be more on that site as well. All of those should be fairly easy to find and cheap on line.
Went to The Ivy in Chichester last week for a quick pre-theatre meal. I have been to the original several times in its heyday and was fully prepared to be scornful and leave with confirmation of my cynical preconceptions that a famous name had been traduced in the pursuit of mammon. How wrong I...
The 6,500 figure (taken from the Guardian article) is for the deaths of all migrant workers from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the ten years between 2011 and 2020. Not just deaths from working in construction let alone World Cup infrastructure. It includes all deaths, not...
If Cucurella didn't belive that he would be allowed to move on if a CL team wanted him and the price was right then he wouldn't have been here in the first place and neither would quite a few of our current team. We would have been relegated long ago. It is the pursuit of footballing excellence...
The first Wagamama that opened just off Tottenham Court Rd in the early Nineties was genuinely ground-breaking and even in the early 2000's it was quite a "cool" place to go for people who weren't actually cool. Not been in for ages as being passed from one venture capital firm to another rarely...
I am still working through some of the teething problems on my installation but over all very happy and will be absolutely delighted once everything is sorted out. I have a 6Kw array (18 panels) with a 6kW battery. In the past two months it has generated 1,500 kWh. I have used 1,250 (55% of my...

Surely those figures show that Mexico is far more dangerous than the US fo Americans as they will be spending much more time in the US than Mexico. The 4.8/100,000 rate works out at just under one person per million per week. If you assume that the 5.7 million visitors spent on average two weeks...
Got my new passport yesterday a full ten days after applying. Applied on line with photographs from a photobooth allowing me just to send in a code rather than physical photos.
No, they are employees which is why there has been so much fuss about seperating out "image rights" which have been used by some clubs to get round tax law.
I'm with you 100%. I enjoy your many and varied contributions to this board and agree that choice of butter is a key differentiator between the genuinely good and the merely trendy. However, I do think that publically celebrating the finer points of craft beer, Amex hospitatlity and man-bags...
And yet less than a month ago you shared your thoughts on a Michelin starred restaurant with the board and complained about the caramel-whipped butter. Do you think that was appropriate given the current economic climate?
