It did, but at the time of the act of Union, it was not the English somehow taking over the Scottish crown, more the other way around if anything. I appreciate plenty of things have happened since!
Their history is a bit twisted. It was a union of the crowns but effectively it was the Scottish royal line that produced the king of England and Scotland. So are they booing on our behalf because, if so, they needn’t bother.
That roundabout used to be nicely planted. One day they chopped it all down to reveal those pipes and weeds and it has stayed like that ever since. A beautiful welcome to our city ….not!
I saw her at the Windsor Horse Show in May, I thought at the time that I wouldn’t see her again. I also saw her at the 1994 D-day commemoration in Portsmouth and really close up at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Possibly at a distance at some cup finals too (Euro 96?).

She seems to have gone downhill rapidly after Philip died and since getting Covid. I suspect she may not survive too much longer but hope I am wrong about that. Her passing will likely kick off a whole swathe of changes here and abroad (in the countries where she is head of state).

That is absolutely spot on. The Brighton Centre is well past its prime, but I am not sure there is an obvious location (or financing) to build something bigger.
