We get greater spotted woodpeckers almost daily in our garden in Hove, but boy have they made a mess of a couple of tree trunks. One smaller tree in particular has had almost all the bark taken off it and now they are working their way along the branches! I’m guessing there are some tasty...
Just keep it simple and name it after the Saudi king and a sponsor, so maybe = the His Royal Highness Salmān ibn 'Abd al-'Azīz Āl Su'ūd‘s Park, sponsored by Saudi Audi.
I’m going as in the midlands that weekend anyway. I would like to have gone to Citeh but can’t make it that day. There seem to be loads of tickets available for anyone interested in seeing a Haaland hat trick and Greasy Jack slipping and sliding on the floor.
Haha, glad your experience was better than mine! I have actually seen a lot of games around the globe but that one stood out as the worst by far. Next time I was brave enough to go to a game in Switzerland was in Euro 2008 which was a cracking match between the Netherlands and Russia. I felt I...
I was working in Switzerland in the 90s and saw that Zurich were at home to Servette. Chance to tick off a new ground methinks and I persuaded a colleague to come with me. It was cold, miserable, sparsely attended, athletics track in the way of a good view, those that were there were screaming...
I used to have a ‘Seagulls for Division 2’ sticker, from the old 3rd division days. Probably good that I lost it, I don’t think it would have aged that well!
When they start the inevitable ‘f*** the Albion’ song, to be fair normally sung about the Baggies but still…., might I suggest one or two of the following:
‘Always s**t on the old gold and black’ (to the Life of Brian tune)
The Yam Yam song (to the Dambusters tune, preferably with arms...
That’s interesting, I might give it a try. What time of day was that in Tesco Hove? Also do you know what vaccine they gave you and was there any choice?
I have a couple of tickets I can’t now use for the England v All Blacks game at Twickenham on November 19. Please PM me if interested. It’s the day before the World Cup starts so no Premier League that day. They are mobile tickets so easily transferred - face value, of course, but that’s £127 each.
Not sure, worth a look though I would think. It gets highest in the sky around midnight I believe, so around then is likely to be the best chance. Last night it was really bright in the sky, and just with a cheap set of binoculars I could easily see one of the moons. I’m no astrophysicist but...
Great view tonight, clearly visible without need for a telescope or similar:

Look at the sky in the east, it’s at its most visible at around midnight but easy enough to see even now when the clouds clear. Clearest view for 60 years apparently.
