    [Football] Bottle tops (again)

Bigger turnout tonight for the 1-0 win against Andorra, I’d say around 2,500 which isn’t bad for a nation of 36,000. Last game at the stadium for at least a couple of years, they’ll be playing at Faro while the Victoria Stadium (that resembles Withdean) is knocked down and rebuilt. On another...

I saw them against Australia in the last World Cup, one of the rising nations for sure.

    [Football] Bottle tops (again)

There were a few hundred there. Actually quite enjoyed it! The team all stand and face the Rock for the National Anthem, which was nice. Officials from Kuwait, no doubt they will be given one of the World Cup semi finals!

    [Football] Bottle tops (again)

I’m in Gibraltar at the moment and took in the friendly against Liechtenstein last night, combined FIFA ranking of 400! As I went into the ground, guess what - my bottle top was confiscated! However no problem taking a beer to my seat! Ridiculous although when a 20 man brawl erupted and...

[Albion] Villa win their CUP final

Most will go back to Worcester or Stafford. Proper Brummies don’t support that lot.

    [Albion] Molineux

Yes, in fact the first couple of times I went were in the 80s, only ever in the away end, and it was a real **** hole then. No doubt it’s improved, I just think for the money spent I didn’t warm to the ‘final’ version, which is probably why they plan to knock it all down and start again! The...

    [Albion] Molineux

Hadn’t been there for many years but I’ve got to say I really didn’t warm to the place. I know they want to rebuild, again, but the stands were all too far away from the pitch, home fans above the away fans is asking for trouble (maybe not so much against Albion) the seats were suitable for a...

    [Football] Holstein Kiel

Not been but you might find this link interesting: From what I have heard more than once, Kiel itself is quite ugly (I imagine the RAF helped with this) but seems an interesting area to visit. Edit: From Lonely Planet: ”Some locals admit that Kiel, the capital of Schleswig-Holstein, has a...

Loved the Jam and the Style Council but Weller’s solo stuff, imho, has been consistently underwhelming

    [Brighton] Old Brighton Postcard

There is a second bloke on that roof, and a rickety ladder. Nothing that John Noakes wouldn’t have done in a pair of trainers.

The Haywards Heath Building Society - sure I must have an old passbook hidden away somewhere.

    [Albion] Season ticket seat

Arguably the seats where you can’t see the game clearly carry a premium …..

[Cricket] T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia

When this was originally planned before lockdown, I had tickets for all the England games, the semi finals and final. I had taken a few weeks leave and my company was happy for me to base myself in our Sydney office to top it up a bit so I would have had 5+ weeks down there. I am watching all...

[News] Nuclear waste burial in Finland

Yes, although even stranger than that, I went past one evening and there was NOT a sign up saying it was closed for overnight repairs. How bizarre and unexpected was that?

    [Football] Massive congrats to Chelsea.

Villa is the one on that list that makes me laugh. And that net spend includes selling Greasy for £100m and getting relegated in that time too.

[Albion] Travel for Man City away (22/10)

I used to use Virgin a lot to get up to the midlands from Euston. Once Avanti took over the service it has gone downhill in so many ways, price and lack of seat choice just for 2. If I have to go up now, I tend to drive.
