So, judging by the letter, Southern's offer appears to be pretty close? At least worth meeting to discuss I would imagine. I think the only sticking points would be Conductor vs On-Board Member of Staff and the suggestion that there would be circumstances where a conductor is not required?
Yeah, point three stuck me as the sticking point, but it feels like Southern are giving a lot here. Surely RMT will be willing to compromise a little? Or have they backed themselves into a corner by talking about train safety so much?
Tonight it seems you'll have to get to Brighton and then get on a normal bus. Nothing extra being run by the club, and no rail replacement (that I can see). The last train before the game leaves at 4.45, next one is (for some reason) at 11.36, and no replacement buses showing on the time table...
No replacement buses showing on National Rail, which is what I thought. Seems to be no service, replacement or otherwise, provided by Southern tonight.
I never get this argument. Money doesn't just exist in a vacuum, waiting for someone to suck it up. The clubs either had this money, or could assume the level of debt required to make the funds available. Why would football clubs want to fund medical research?
Of course you could make the...
It does. Specifically it goes round my house, so it's very useful. But it stops at about half 7/8 out of term time (well stops running to/from the University) so it's not an option for return journeys for evening games at the moment.
Yes, because that's not putting words in my mouth is it? What I'm in fact saying is that overtime should, in any well run business, be the exception rather than the rule surely? I'm not saying they should cut all overtime, that would be ludicrous. I'm in fact saying that they should have staff...
Sorry, completely misread. This is the same issue chaileyjem has in his second post, they haven't actually listed where stuff is. I guess everyone will have to report back after Friday and we can work it out? It would be nice if the club shared that info, unless it's the rotating stall things...
It's a pizza cooked in a wood fired oven I'd assume? I'm sure you could get a whole pizza from one of the kiosks that rotated last year, so probably similar to that?
I'm guessing they've changed the "Beer and Pie" kiosk to one of the new "destination" kiosks. I'm guessing the "Piglet's guest...
But the disruption hasn't been from strikes has it? Southern have built a system that relies entirely on overtime from workers to run, and then (depending on what you believe) either they stopped workers working overtime if they'd been on strike or workers stopped working overtime. Either way...
Whether you agree with the strikers or not, it's obvious that the disruption from this strike is the union's fault. Which is not to say that striking is wrong, but they felt backed into a corner and took the only action they saw available to them. The overall disruption to the service for the...
I don't know how much it's changed from last season, but it needs different tables and chairs for a start. Or even putting down some tablecloths. That seems like it'd be easy to sort without any major changes to the decor. Plus, could they not have just grabbed a bunch of club employees for an...
