Perry's Plea / No Trains for Rotherham?

Due to the transport levy, the club presumably has a contract with Southern which details service levels etc... Hopefully it includes hefty financial penalties if Southern don't hold up their end.

    Yo-yo clubs and parachute payments...

The problem with parachute payments, in my opinion, is that they're blindly given. They're meant to be a way of stopping clubs going bust from high wage demands, but they don't actually take account of a clubs actual situation when giving the money. If, instead, relegated clubs were allowed to...

Donald Trump's claim that he's made lots of sacrifices for America

Seriously, failing to endorse two senior figures in his party should be suicide alone. The other problems are big, for sure, but basically turning on your own party should pretty much kill any politician. The fact there's now a serving Republican saying they'll vote for his opponent is ludicrous...

    Southern Rail STRIKE details

Woah! Woah. What have you got against Bagelman?

Donald Trump's claim that he's made lots of sacrifices for America

It's an interesting race. Almost any other Democrat would be crushing Trump, and any other Republican would destroy Clinton; these two were made for each other. Both candidate have unfavourable numbers north of 50%, which seems ludicrous. Hell, Trump had 60% unfavourable at once point, which was...

Donald Trump's claim that he's made lots of sacrifices for America

You wouldn't have got away with what he's done in the last day. Seriously, read that list. No one would buy any candidate saying that without immediately being utterly destroyed. Perhaps it's like Mr. Burns, where's there's so much going wrong that no single thing can actually kill him.

Donald Trump's claim that he's made lots of sacrifices for America

God, I forgot he said that. What does that even mean?!

Donald Trump's claim that he's made lots of sacrifices for America

I sometimes wonder if he's using different definitions of words to the rest of us.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

But managers are used to run the services in general? That was my understanding, but conflicts with what theboybilly said

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

They use managers etc... to replace the conductors normally on strike days is my understanding. Which is the main reason that services still run, albeit more limited.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

Just to point out, trains would likely still be somewhat stuffed if the game was on a Saturday. Rolling stock is always in the wrong place the day after a strike, so while a Saturday game wouldn't have been as bad, it still wouldn't be great.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

Lots of other fields he could go into with similar, or better, pay and avoid fans, working for the customers that many feel he considers us.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

He's certainly chosen a rather unusual career path if he hates fans.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

"They don't just not run trains" meaning "They will still run trains during a strike in general". I didn't think it was that hard to puzzle out.
  15. H

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

Sure, but by my count we currently have 14 home games on a Saturday. So it's free about 75% of the time on a Saturday.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

Oh god, that was poorly phrased by me. But you still got what I meant, so it's not really a bother now is it?
  17. H

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

That's not no trains still (but I didn't know that). We'll have to see what Southern say I guess.

Currently NO TRAINS for the Colchester or Forest games

There won't be no trains. They don't just not run trains during strikes.

Only 250 quid to [jump the queue for*] the Seven Stars Sports bar.. [* = get in to]

Also, most grounds don't even have bars? Sure, lots are located in communities that have plenty of bars near by, but there can't be many that have tried have an actual bar in it. If the bar isn't financially viable on a free model, then moving it to basically the status of a corporate lounge...

Hastings Old Town - very impressed

Having spent my life between the ages of one and nineteen living in the Old Town, it is a nice area generally. Good pubs (I lived in The Stag for about ten of the years I was there as my parents ran it, and in the Cinque Ports before that), reasonably quiet, and a good community atmosphere for...
