Ooops sorry. The Weakest Link is one of the best running events of the year and pretty much follows the same route -its a semi-competitive team event and lots of fun. NSC runners have entered teams in the last few years and some have performed creditably!
Details here...
Probably worth seeing a physio- difficult to comment without a proper diagnosis - it’s possibly bursitis or something or similar but a physio would advise both how to treat it and how to manage it whilst healing. Likely a combination of rest/icing/stretches and strengthening exercise will be...
That mixture of the feeling of anticipation, the taste of cold air and the sight of the floodlights blazing when approaching a ground on a dark, cold and crisp November evening.
Phenomenal- congratulations!
To think I used to run a similar parkrun time to you and now couldn’t finish within 20 mins of a half! And it’s not that I’ve slowed down (much).
Yes I was at this too - great day. Funniest thing was it was a beautiful day until a massive thunderstorm which sent everyone running in all directions trying to find shelter!
Got to be the perfect day for it - cool and sunny. I guess a westerly wind would help. Amazing winning time, quicker than I ran my notparkrun this morning!
Well done for marshalling.
Good point - but ‘as you know sir’ we need to keep an open mind and can’t rule out the possibility that DCI Kate Fleming’s name when she joined the force was Harry Fleming. #twist
Of course someone ‘right at the top’ could have manipulated the DNA database to throw AC12 off the trail.
There again, Jo and Kate could be related - they are close but not that close and Kate keeps mentioning their ‘personal issue’.
Why do you think Tom Ravenscroft has never been given a regular show? He’s been super sub for years now. I always thought he was being lined up to replace someone but it’s never happened. Unless it’s his decision?
I’m afraid Liz Kershaw’s show was becoming more and more like listening to Radio 2 in 1982 -hiya, here’s another golden oldie, email saying great show, namedrop, namedrop etc. Well overdue a change and much as I love R6 (especially Gideon Coe and Marc Riley) it has got a bit stale in places - Do...
This.
I used it as my final 20 mile training run before a marathon. There is something slightly unsatisfactory about the whole event (apart from the Mariachi band which is ace).
It’s March 31st so time for end of first quarter report...
53 runs
734km/456 miles
12008m/39356ft climbing
0 parkruns, 14 notparkruns
Pretty happy with that, looking forward to getting back into events (or at least training for them) in the next quarter.
Also consider adding some hills into your training (if you don’t already do so), you’ll get stronger and hence quicker on the flat. Also some gym work and core/upper body strength training can take the burden off your legs and make you faster.
Finally - parkrun when it returns - hopefully June...
