I think I saw it (through binoculars)- quite a long way out to sea off Hove Prom about 1:15. Lots of slightly disappointed people.
Looked like it did a victory roll over St Dunstans on the way.
Keen but not very good at most sports, I can though look proudly at my honours board which shows:
Winner 4th Year Egg and Spoon - Moss Hall Junior School Finchley
3rd place Barnet Under 14 Scouts Table Tennis Championships
99 SCUBA dives
Er that’s it
Just finished my third 1000 piecer of the lockdown. Thinking of using street What’s App group to see if there is swap market out there - I mean what do you do with a used jigsaw - wait for the next lockdown?
Gideon Coe has a (repeated) Jangle hour last week. Lots of the usual suspect but a nice listen while up on the Downs this morning. Available here https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b0927dhq
Perhaps more interesting (although less true to C86) are Henry Rollins’ Cool Quarantine Shows available...
I must have spent about three years looking for a pair of shorts that had zip up pockets (how else do you carry stuff safely?) without webbing and weren’t stupid short. The Albion training ones from seven years ago were perfect but I’ve never found anything to match them. Finally settled for...
Hopefully good news - as dazzer6666 says do take it easy on the way back -( it’s even taken Boris 3 weeks).
Take care - plenty of time to get running again and obvs if by any chance any of us can do anything to help just shout.
Kurt at RUN is open for deliveries and advice. See https://run-shop.co.uk/ or tweet him on @RUN_Store and I’m sure he’ll be happy to help. I ordered some socks from him and he delivered withi 2 hours!
Cracked out a new Pb and indeed course record at notparkrun this morning. Didn’t really feel great when I started but somehow ran 21:43, a 23 second improvement and is close to my best parkrun for the year without the encouragement of running with a group to spur you on.
Looking forward to...
I don’t use them but I know we have some Hoka fans here. Possibly done good deals for you?

As someone who works for GSK, I’ve got to say that the speed of this coming together and willingness to collaborate is incredible and not something I’ve seen before.
Notched up my fourth successive notparkrun first place this morning (are you watching Ninja Elephant). Dominated the field from the off, leaving Mrs Simgull to come in a distant second place (but first female again).
Managed a pb of 22:06 - is all the Joe Wicks HIIT paying off?
As I have also...
About 15.5 miles for me on the Downs this morning. Everyone - runners, cyclists, dog walkers - courteously making way for each other to ensure social distancing. It will be really upsetting if we lose this due the actions of some idiots.
123 miles in March and 315 for the year. Included 10 glorious spring miles on the Downs this afternoon. Doesn’t get much better than this time of year up there and not being able to hear any traffic was a bonus.
Thanks for that. I can only add my cousin (who was an Olympic athlete) wrote a biography of Otto Peltzer called His Own Man. it’s a pretty interesting read about a top German runner during the rise of the Nazis, he was almost certainly gay and it’s an interesting study of the conflicts of...
