I have a confession.... I’ve gone to the dark side and bought new bike. I realise I won’t be able to conceal this on Strava so thought I’d better be up front about it before I’m thrown off this thread.
Now, thoughts on balance and benefits of ruining and cycling - whilst not getting in too much...
They have another 20% off day today until 9am tomorrow. Code is GRD20.
GRD stands for Global Running Day - Who knew?
So Happy Global Running Day everyone!
Finished the 50 mile week successfully this morning - in fact ended up with 56 miles as I ran with a friend today to help him finish his 100. As said before, really enjoyed this virtual event and I think it’s been a huge success with nearly 4000 participants from toddlers to 88 year olds...
Fantastic effort well done - amazing in this heat.
Got to say I think the Centurion event has worked really well. It’s been great to feel part of a communal event with everyone taking on their own challenge - some of the stories posted are truly inspiring.
Hoping to finish my 50 miles in the...
Have you seen that film where the guy in Australia does this and also knocks off a load of DIY jobs in between - I can’t remember the name - I Think Guinness Boy may have recommended it?

Added another 5 miles onto the Centurion challenge this evening with a gentle jog down Basin Road and back. 21.5 down, 28.5 over five days doesn’t sound so daunting now. Certainly seems Social Distancing is a thing of the past by the look of some of the groups on the beach.
Looking to round it...
Kicked off my Centurion 50 mile week yesterday morning. Wasn’t expecting the heat! Ran Hove Park - Waterhall- Saddlescoombe- Dyke-Truleigh-Thundebarrow-Mile Oak Farm then really struggles up the hill back to Foredown Tower and was very happy to be picked up by Mrs Simgull and carted home -...
I can’t remember if we’ve covered this already but is anyone doing the Centurion event next week? Any distance from 5k to 100 miles in one go or spread across the week. I’m doing 50 miles (not in one go!).
It’s nearest thing to a mass participation event at the moment - there’s about 2500...
Might be worth asking Kurt @run for an opinion - he’s switched out of ASICS to 361 as some of the ASICS designers have moved over. I’ve switched and am very happy with the 361s
Stormed to a new notparkrun best of 21:10 (AG 72.0%) this morning. Really helped that I met a friend to run with (2m apart) - shows how much harder you push yourself even with minimum of competition. I think I could go sub21 with a full parkrun crowd to run against.
In other news bought some...
Yes - agree - when I saw Burpees were 7 I thought we are in for a tough session! Hardest day yet I thought but that’s good it needs to progress. Definitely feeling the benefits including for running.
