Gee-whizz that was tough.
Not sure if it was the heat, the humidity or not having run a road marathon for two years but that was a personal worst time.
First half was ok 1:54- pretty much to target but wasn’t feeling great. Second half there was a lot of jog/walking and ended up finishing in...
This.
Maybe worth going back to the dentist and re-checking the fit. Mine was a bit uncomfortable when I tried it and the dentist ground some of the guard down to improve the fit.
Ashton Court parkrun in Bristol this week. A straight out and back in a beautiful park BUT, something I haven’t experienced before, the first 2.5km is all uphill - 104m according to my Garmin (and some of it quite steep) whereas the reverse is of course all downhill. Anyone who fails to get a...
Update…Geraldine Moffat broke the record at Hove Prom yesterday with 94.26%. Presumably Chris Taylor is gutted at only holding the record for a week! Shades of Coe/Ovett here!
First of all thanks sully for volunteering yourself.
I’m running this year but marshalled last time and can highly recommend it. You get to see every runner go by - twice if you get a good place. This year you’ll get a lie in as well I guess as the bike race has been cancelled.
I was amazed...
Newtown parkrun in Wales for me this morning. Nice run - two out and backs alongside the River Severn. Going to return tomorrow for my LSR.
SB for me 21:28 AG 71.58% and finished a pleasing 14th out of 138.
Got the last 20 miler out of the way on Sunday. Tough run with very hilly second half including up Tongdean Lane at mile 18 - I walked it!
Thanks for the table update knocky1. Not very interestingly, my SB is 21:42. My final parkrun on 20th March 2020 before it was suspended was also 21:42.
Ah thought it was - apologies for not shouting hello I think my brain was just too water logged by that point.
Handicap race sounds fun - we did one earlier in the lockdown where six of us ran 5k but delayed our starts based on our recent times - competitive spirits were very evident - like you...
Good weekend for me. 10 trail miles on Friday, 21:42 (70.8%) at Hove Park parkrun - way behind ben Elton’s Brother of course - and then a very solid 18 miles from Angmerring to Hove this morning. Don’t think I’ve ever got as wet whilst running! Good to bump into an equally wet Ninja Elephant for...
Don’t suppose anyone has a video clip of that Norwich player (Olsen?) falling over when trying to cross the ball and then having a fight paddy? Surely the funniest moment at the Amex - can’t wait for more of the same.
Big thanks to Guinness Boy for mentioning Fanoos on this thread. We went tonight and were not disappointed. Good simple Persian food, two starters and three main courses with change from £60. BYO really helps.
A great find and highly recommended.
All good at Hove Park parkrun. About 230 runners so very manageable numbers. Everyone well behaved, observing social distancing and it never felt crowded. Good to see ben Elton’s Brother. 22:21 for me but like most people was not pushing too hard and it was bloody humid.
Up norf next week and...
