I'll consider myself spotted, really should have got a hair cut!
Happy days, truly amazing afternoon!!
Did parkrun and a swift 13 miler yesterday evening, completely worth it now. Couple more long runs planned and that'll be it for BM training.
You'll do well to spot me gaffer, at Parkrun O'clock I'll be having a fry up before beers and a trip to Selhurst, all part of my planned BM training schedule of course...
Progress in 2019 continues, a SB parkrun on Saturday down to 22.01, 62.00% AG.
I decided to brave the seafront yesterday afternoon, miserable is the best I could describe it as, the 6 miles from Marina to Power Station particularly not fun!
A steady 18.5 miles in 2h 38. A few more long runs to...
Thanks Chaps :)
I think this just proves how one-paced I am. With some training I can go quite far at one pace!
My 5K PB has stood for nearly four years now, I think I really should be able to beat this so this is my immediate target. Training continues for the Brighton Marathon and then I'll...
Better get my update in quick then!
A six minute PB for me yesterday down to 1.39.26. Really pleased to have come in sub 1.40.00.
If this could be updated on the table along with my seasons best parkrun of 22.24 AG 60.94 that would be great
Cheers!
Hello folks, been away from the thread for a while!
Happily my hand has recovered from its break back in November, running shoes have been back on for a while now and I've been steadily increasing the miles. I'll be running the Brighton half on Sunday (will keep an eye open for friendly faces)...
I've been a bit of a numpty, fell over crossing the Kingsway a few weeks ago, left hand did a fine job of breaking my fall, unfortunately broke a couple of bones in there in the process!
Been in plaster for a little over two weeks now and back to the fracture clinic on Friday.
Any experiences...
I've been quietly plugging away for the past few weeks trying to get myself into some kind of half distance shape, and hoping that this has a positive effect on my parkrun times.
Seems to be working so far, yesterday at Hove Park was a years best of 22.00 and a new best age grading record of...
Parkrun 300 for me this weekend, think I may go to Hove Park for a change.
My prep for this milestone will be cheesy chips with too much beer at tomorrow nights friendly and a hangover Saturday morning - bring it on!
I died on my arse!! Out celebrating my anniversary last night, not the best prep and then too late getting up. Aborted my usual 7.5 mile loop and crawled home after 5.5.
Recovered from that now. July 1st means Canada Day in our household so it's off out now for beer and poutine!
23.40 for me yesterday. No ill effects from that or this mornings battle with the breeze.
The weakest link - I almost certainly will be, but I'm IN
See you there...
Sorry for being quiet, I'm still undecided on this.
Tweaked my hamstring again a couple of weeks ago at Hove Park, have rested it since then and went back to Parkrun over the weekend. Whilst happy to complete the course without any issues it did take nearly 26 minutes and I dont want to be...
Can't argue with any of that, always hated the play-offs!
Thanks for updating the table.
1 second improvement programmed in for Saturday, I've lost about 16lbs in weight over the last three and a bit months, hopefully this will contribute to my 1 second this weekend and the medium term attack...
There was a slight scanner 'glitch' at Hove park this weekend, all now resolved and I have an official time. A seasons best of 22.25.
Been looking over my stats (in my 10th year of parkrunning - yikes!) and in the nearly 300 runs, I've only gone sub 22 six times, my times are coming down...
Good to see Ninja in Hove Park this morning. Really pleased with my efforts too, a 50 second seasons best down to 22.40 and my best time over 5K for a little over three years.
If the table could be updated along with my best over the longer distances, that would be great!
10K - 45.38
HM -...
3.57.59 for me, my second best effort over the distance. Just about 6 minutes outside my best. I set off on the 4.20 train so did much better than I planned. 8.59 average pace, pretty consistent splits apart from the final 3 miles which were tough. Great support as ever from the crowds, if I can...
This will be my 5th marathon and 5th at Brighton, those of you who know me from Parkrun know that I don't travel well!
Times have varied from a crippled first effort of 5h30 to a best of 3h52 a couple of years back. Having missed the first five weeks of this year with my hamstring I'm aiming...
